Calling a timeout to reset the shotclock

Not how it works.

If the offense calls a time out, the timer runs down to 10 and will stop. If under 10, the count will start at that point. If the defense calls a time out when the timer is on (officials have been instructed to avoid the use of the term "shot clock"), the timer is reset when the ball is put in play.
