Bulldogs in Japan

Bulldogs in Japan

Postby Frank Clark on Fri Jun 20, 2008 12:29 pm

Over the next few days the 8 USA WEST participants are going to attempt to collectively blog their trip to Japan. It is our hope (and theirs) that they can each send at least one blog entry over the course of their trip. Obviously, their schedule, and access to the internet will be limiting factors, but we have hope!

They will be posted at www.umdlacrosse.com

What an incredible trip this must be. Thanks for posting the link to this blog!

How exactly does this team work? I.E. how did they get formed, why are they heading to Japan to play, etc? Very cool stuff.

Nevermind, found the description at the bottom of UMD's website. Thanks Frank.

USA West lacrosse was established in 1999 to give lacrosse players from non-traditional lacrosse regions an opportunity to play at the highest international level. Athletes eligible for selection are elite-level MCLA players, NCAA players from select varsity programs in Western conferences and locales, and NCAA players at Eastern varsity programs who played high school lacrosse in the West. USA West has historically field's a formidable team. USA West teams have traveled to Japan, England, Australia, China, Germany and the Czech Republic, winning every tournament that they've entered, and have played against the Iroquois Nation, Team USA, The Australian National Team and others.
