Thanks to everyone for making the 2008 another fun event.

Florida wins the title in dramatic fashion with a overtime goal to win 8-7.
They beat Auburn in the finals.

Any more word on Hogan's impending nuptials?

Or did a new candidate emerge throughout the course of the weekend (.) (.)

does anyone recall the year of the first alumni tourney? here is what i remember for the finals:

2005 UF (w/gt) over Auburn (w/UT)
2006 Auburn over Tennessee
2007 UF over Auburn
2008 UF over Auburn

was 2005 the first year? was it 2004 where UF and Auburn picked up guys from the 3rd and 4th place teams and i missed another year where someone else won?

04 was the first year as far as I can remember.

I remember because only 4 guys from UGA showed up and then 2 of them left. The other 2 of us split off to play with GT and UT. I played for UT that year and we had one sub for Day 1. Brutal. I remember it mainly because my Dad, a UT alum, still has the picture of me in that horrible orange jersey sitting on his desk.

Dont remember who won it that year though. Sorry.

On a related note-

Thanks to Coach Lovic and the GT guys for a great weekend. Lots of fun and seconding the earlier sentiments- it was nice for UGA (and Tech) to be able to field a full team this year- although I am using the term "full" quite loosely...

GT

Postby Ken Lovic on Mon Jun 16, 2008 12:35 pm

Well, from 2000-2004 Tech won every title. There were some epic finals with GT winning the first two 1-0 and then in 2002-2004 we won in OT each time.
Amazing showing of determination of the teams behalf.
Let's keep history alive

Pretty sure I saw Dave Adams, with camera in tow, floating around the tourney. Are any pics posted anywhere yet?
