Sporting Events For the Family

So for a graduation present my dad wants to take me to a few games this summer. Pretty excited about it, but not sure exactly what I want to go see. Any suggestions for good games to check out? I’m into anything: basketball, soccer, or baseball related for the most part. Area doesn’t really matter since we want to do some traveling and turn it into a little road trip, but somewhere within driving distance of the northeast most likely

Go see a game at Yankee Stadium since this is its last season. Same thing with the Cowboys and Texas Stadium (even though their season won't be this summer, but maybe you guys can catch something this fall).

You might be able to get tickets to a WNBA game or two...or maybe the National Spelling Bee. I think I would go with the Bee.

Yeah, well I feel the same way about going to an NBA game, would rather watch grass grow.

For kooky fun:
Red Bull Fluegtag - I am thinking of going to the PDX event, just because it looks like so much craziness. An excellent event to "keep Portland weird". Also in Chicago and other cities this summer.

For violent fun:
You could attend an LA Galaxy event and hope that some English football hooligans will show up and teach you and your dad how to riot properly.

For polite fun:
US Open at Flushing Meadows - see a grand slam event. The american crowds are considered the rowdiest (by tennis standards)....and you get to see Maria Sharapova up close and personal. I had the opportunity to attend Wimbleton a few years ago and it was amazing. Would love to see the Open as well one day.

I highly recommend Yankee Stadium if you have not been. Ebay or Stubhub are good for tickets. US Open at Torrey Pines or The Open Championship at Birkdale. It is usually try to plan trips where I can visit multiple venues in the same day or week. Stubhub and Ebay are awesome for tickets, but beware that Stubhub will charge you some extra fees.

Agreed... go to a Major championship if at all possible, PGA Championship at Whistling Straits was the best event I've ever been to

If not there, then the Brewers have the Pirates at home Aug 22-24

a major championship would qualify as the EURO 2008 tourney. If you can score tickets for less than your life's savings, then that'll be worth the price of admission.....as long as your not sitting with the Spanish.
peace.

They're aobut to go under sanctions for racially abusing players over the course of several years. The current coach has called players monkey's in the quliafying for the Euro.

Personally I’m a big fan of New York basketball (Knicks and Liberty). The fans are amazing and you can’t NOT have a good time at games of either team. Obviously the knicks arent still playing, but a Liberty game would be possible. Or go catch the yankees.
