If Western Oregon can get past Westminster, they should be able to roll all the way into the finals. Getting Westminster so early is a tough draw though, since it is pretty obvious that they should've been higher than Harding, the PNCLL gets no love........

Great job to SFU with a great win yesterday. Both PNCLL teams have a challenge today but with the tough ball we are both used to we should be able to put some teams on their heals.

I'm looking forward to WOU vs Westminster match-up. WOU is the real deal and seems to be underrated as the 8th seed. If they can keep Westminster's big players in check, they could cruise to victory. Westminster is a deep team but tend to lean on their star players when the game matters most.

It's nice WOU got a win at Nationals, but the goal is to win the whole thing. . .and to be the best you have to beat the best.

Western Oregon should be excited at this opportunity to play the #1 team in the country on the biggest stage. . .

Seeding, in my opinion is irrelevant at this point. They picked up a nice first round win. . .and now they can make a statement that they can play with anyone.

For all the bad blood between the ducks and clan, I'm really excited to see the clan take it to the cougs. Represent the NW. And watch out for 32, don't play him too far out, he's too fast. Really wish I could be there to watch this game.

it was #7 last year. he hasnt played a game this year. i'd say roman shoewe was the best shooter they had, cant remember if he was lefty or righty, but was skilled with both hands. Brand, split dodges from up top all day, he's a righty(i think) but can finish with his left. He shot a lot against us but it seems like he deals a lot more this year.

Just curious. . .and maybe somebody who is at Nationals can explain the circumstances. . .

But why did Calvin Davis, the leading scorer in the PNCLL, score a goal with 10 seconds remaining in a game where his team was up 20-5? Was WOU attacking the cage at the end with their starters still in? I certainly hope not. I understand WOU has small numbers, but I was just curious if this was an issue in Texas. I just don't get it. . .

Was the Harding side upset about this, or was it just in the flow of the last few seconds of the game?

You don't go to a national tournament looking for a friendly game, you go with every intention of burying the competition and letting the national scene know who you are. This isn't an early-season game against PSU, this is the big show. I for one am stoked that WOU is out there making statements, just like St Thomas and Dayton are doing as I write this.

This isn't an early-season game against PSU, this is the big show. I for one am stoked that WOU is out there making statements, just like St Thomas and Dayton are doing as I write this.

I know those kids are competitiors. . .and I applaud them for all they've accomplished this season (and hopefully continue to accomplish). . .but does 21-5 make a bigger statement than 20-5? Personally, I want my kids to play their tails off for the whole game. . .but in the last minute or so with a giant lead I never let my players attack the cage.

I didn't see the last goal, and there are a lot of things that could have happened to make that last goal understandable. . .I was just hoping someone who was at the game could let me know what happened.

Here are two scenarios, one that I think would be understandable and one that I think constitutes bad sportsmanship. . .

1) Rookie is in the game at the end of the game, clears the ball coast to coast at the end of the game and then passes the ball to crease attackman who scores. . .giving that young player who plays very litte an assist at nationals.

2) End of the game, up by 15 and player calls for the ball and drives iso from X and scores a goal in the final seconds.

Do you really think both of these scenarios are the same? I certainly don't, and that is why I asked the question. It has nothing to do with making a statement. Westminster was on the sidelines, so I think WOU made a nice statement in the first 59:50 of that game. A goal in the last 10 seconds of a blowout does not "make a statement" in my opinion.

SFU having trouble riding and allowing some fast breaks out of the clear. . .Clan down 2. . .6:30 remains. . .Thomas just missed the cage with a lefty laser while I was talking to Kevin. . .

BYU Finished off SFU 10-9 with a goal at the end of the game. . .

And Western Oregon, who trailed 10-9 at the half (yes, this is true). . .gave Westminster all they could handle for 30 minutes but fell 20-9 in the end.
