It's kinda of funny to hear that the team that has failed out of the league on three different occasions is complaining about things not being good enough for them.
Archaeology is the search for fact... not truth. If it's truth you're looking for, Dr. Tyree's philosophy class is right down the hall.

the point of allowing them 2 spots in playoffs is to promote competitive play to reach a goal
several of yall have made statements that div 1aa was competitive with the teams in it....
For others yes, but for my team it was not. We had one close game in the begining of the season, then rest were blow outs

It seems that Ole Miss is a good fit for AA. Why do you keep saying Mississippi should be moved up?

Yea that's what I said earlier, If we want 1AA to be competitive, set up a 1AA final four or championship game, THEN they are crowned 1AA champs and their AQ (if you wanna call it that) would be to the conf tourny. The very best from 1AA goes in as the 6 seed in the conf tourny and give the other 5 spots to the best 5 from 1A. Then you have less of a discretion in someone getting snubbed, ie the best 5 of 6 from 1A and the best team from 1AA going. Just an off the top idea but as im writing it, it doesnt seem too bad

and ole miss deserves respect just like any other team. no one of us (person or team) is any better than or worse than (in terms of having their voice heard or opinion carefully considered). If ole miss wants to move up we should consider it.
Oh yea and the idea of giving 1AA their own 2 team or 4 team playoff gives a much clearer picture of 'who' should move up, if they wish

No DRich its a valid idea.... the only problem I see is giving almost every team in Div 1A a playoff spot... could expand the Div 1A to seven teams have Div 1AA five teams and do it that way
Indiana Jones I dont worry about the past ole miss teams and neither does the GRLC
I took over this program to make it the best it can be.... and the reason I want ole miss to move up is to play better teams and learn/grow for those games
This was the first year in the MCLA under my leadership and to think that Ole Miss will stay at its current level of play is porposterious my team is young and more recruits are coming.... we make giant leaps every year
I know we will be a talented and a team the MCLA will be proud of in the future

I read that Ole Miss is getting Nevada's lone player in the U.S. Lacrosse senior showcase. A long pole if i remember correctly. Must be exciting for johnny reb.

Good for Brian that was news to me
Ole Miss's recruiting class for next year is impressive and diversified from all over the country
From California to New York and even Idaho

NEV HS: Jared Peters Selected to Nat'l Sr. Showcase
Henderson senior defenseman Jared Peters has been selected to play in the U.S. Lacrosse National Senior Showcase this summer, Henderson Coach Marty Droney said.
Peters, who has plans to play college club lacrosse at the University of Mississippi next season, is one of 100 players nationally to be chosen for the event, Droney said.
Droney added that Peters will be the first player from Nevada to ever participate in the showcase.
"We're very proud of him and his accomplishments," Droney said

If I remember the discussion regarding IA and IAA representation in the Division I playoffs, one of the most compelling reasons was not competition, but dollars. The IAA teams felt they paid the same dues, so they deserved a place in the playoffs. Hence, the DI playoffs were expanded to 6 teams to include 2 IAA teams.
Before we start talking about changing DI or DII playoffs, we should wait and see how the landscape changes due to entry of new teams and leaving of existing teams. We should know that by late summer. There may also be movement depending on MCLA action changing the criterian of schools with NCAA DI Football programs being in DI.
While there is no mandatory relegation between IA and IAA, movement is possible by a team petitioning the conference to move. If Ole Miss feels they are ready to go to IA, petition the conference. It would be no different than the Missouri St. (SMS at the time) move from Division B to Division A a few years ago or if I wanted to move Missouri S&T up to IAA next year.
