Just to note it is Andrew Weber, not Adam Weber. No big deal.
Congrats to everyone making All-Conference. Heck of a feat.

POY is assumed more significant than All-Conference and therefore on the AC list. Gives us 2 more spots to award to other players.

First of all congrats to everyone who made both 1st, 2nd or honorable mention. One thing that caught me as strange was that Greg Olson who lead the league in points per game was on the second team. (Just as a side note looked to me like Bice lead in goals scored, assists and overall points).
I pulled his off the UMLL website and it has games, goals, assists, points, and points per game.
Olson, Greg: games-9, goals-29, assists-20, points-49, pointspergame-5.44
Bice, Kevin: games-17, goals-53, assists-28, points-81, pointspergame-4.76
Nelson, Pete: games-12, goals-28, assists-17, points-45, pointspergame-3.75
Wishart, Scott: games-13, goals-22, assists-16, points-38, pointspergame-2.92
While I realize that numbers are not everything, but I would have expected Olson to make it in there. I do also realize that Duluth did play a harder OOC schedule, but I was wondering what everyones take was on why it played out this way. Just looking for opinions because I know I wasn't able to see either of these teams really play other than when they played ISU (at which point I believe I was very biased).

Whenever he gets an assist, we statisticians refer to this as the "Wishart Distribution"!

He made second team all conference. What is to complain about?
Points per game isn't always the most telling stat.
Can you imagine how many points per game Nelson would have if he wasn't pulled in the second quarter, or if Duluth didn't slow down?
I haven't seen Olson play, but I'd have a hard time believing he is significantly better than Bice or the UMD unit.

I was just wondering why this year there was no "pole" sent out to coaches to vote on who they thought deserved all conference honors? Or am I mistaken and did not know that one was sent out? As I remember last year there was a pole sent out to each team to vote on who they thought deserved the nods. Just wondering if this was another EB decision, or how the all conference teams were decided?

Probably should just be named "People who Rob Graff think are really good unless you play for a team not named UMD"

There is a rather large talent gap between UMD and the rest of the league, this fact is reflected in the post season awards.
Your post is disrespectful, not only to people like Rob and Chris (people who you obviously know nothing about), who work their tails off year round for you to have an opportunity to play lacrosse at a high level, but to Greg and Scott as well. Greg is a very nice lacrosse player, and his work was rewarded with a second team all conference selection. Wishart had a great season, and for you to complain about him being selected reeks of sour grapes, and demonstrates a lack of knowledge about the level of competition in the UMLL.
To be honest, if I thought your opinion was anything more than the whiney manifestation of a vocal minority, I'd propose we just eliminate these awards outright.
Is it any wonder you feel compelled to post anonymously? Because even if what you're saying might not be embarassing, the way you're saying it certainly is.
To put it in the parlance of our times, you sir are made of FAIL.

I'll want to ignore the first part of your quote because it's obvious you feel slighted and nothing I say will have an impact in that, although it troubles me you anonomously attack someone who does a tremendous amount of good for our league and the MCLA (not to mention youth lax locally).
Your shot at Brad is also unwarranted. He had NOTHING TO DO WITH THE CANCELLATION OF THE DIVISION 1 TOURNAMENT, nor did any official. If we had asked him to, Brad would have plucked officials of of high school games. The UMLL board, with input from key coaches, decided to cancel the tournament. We did this in part to be good citizens of our local lacrosse community who went out of their way to accommodate our request for tournament dates.
If you have more to say on this matter, I invite you to come to our league meeting on Saturday and voice your opinion like a man.
