What about teams that might have a chance to upset some of these teams people have penciled in as automatic qualifiers? People forget that Oakland upset Michigan last year but they were ineligible to play in the Tourney. Being a team that is not being predicted to challenge Duluth in the UMLL, I think that we will see a few upsets that will change the makeup of the tourney.

By the amount of posts on here regaling Oakland (granted mostly by one person), you would think some people have them already penciled in as national champions. And after beating FSU, I don't think people are counting you all out from a UMLL championship. The true underdogs in the conference tournaments are gonna be the teams with the talent but not necessarily the wins under their belts, usually the #4 seeds and higher (and sometimes #3).

Just because Oakland upset U of M last year doesn't mean that people pencil them in as the National Champion. It is just talked about by many people as a reminder that upsets happen and that it all comes down to the conference championships. This topic was not started to debate Oakland as a national champ but like many other topics, people choose to turn it into one.

All I am saying is that Oakland's win over U of M is used as an example to remind people that upsets happen in general (as gopherlax27 used it). It isn't used just to remind people that Oakland won the game. Trust me, after it happened more people looked at it as Michigan got upset than people looked at it as Oakland won.

Clarification
I was trying to get people thinking about teams maybe at the bottom of top 25 or outside that have a chance to knock the conference favorites in the conference tournament. I was not implying that those teams would win the national championship, but rather trying to guess what upsets could happen this year. I just think that there will no doubt be some upsets and I was trying to get people to make some predictions.

Indiana beat ranked Miami handily. I'll bet this one game will shake up the rankings significantly.

Eugene, I think you're fishing for compliments, but I'll bite. I think the Gophers have a quality team. I certainly don't count you out against Duluth. I don't think anyone does. The UMLL championship will be interesting this year, and from what I have heard, I have no way to predict what will happen, but you can be sure that I will be there.
