In the last few years there has been an explosion in lacrosse specific cleats...and I didnt notice how many their are untill I looked at Great Atlantic today, and saw a huge list of them, made by Nike, Brine and Warrior. So take a look, see what all of you think

They all seem like overkill to me...but I still wear old beat up Addias tenis shoes to play in...havent failed me yet

the nike and reebok shoes are old styles of football cleats, im not sure they are actually lacrosse specific but they all seem the same to me

The reason for all the new cleats that have just popped up, is because some one finaly reolized no one had done it yet. There is a big mark-up on all sporting equipment, and they figure if not many people make lacrosse "specific" cleats that they can make alot of money. They are nice looken I guess, but are they worth the money?

Yeah, i remember those stupid Nike Land Sharks from my pop warner football days, might even still have the pair in a closet somewhere

Can anyone give me a suggestion of the type of footwear that you have had sucess with on a wet turf? We have found that traction is not that with regular turf shoes when the turf is wet. Any help would be appreciated.

what kind of turf? astro, nike, next, long stuff? need to be more specific than just turf. I know a lot of my buddies just wear molded cleats on the next turf field that we play on when it is raining, and well it kind of rains a lot around here...

it is a high speed carpet. Astroturf 12 to be exact.

I have a pair of the Warrior Burn lows and I really like them. I get great traction for running or cutting. I mean cleats dont really change your game, but I bought the Burns because they are good quality cleats and will last me a while.

as for wet turf..... soccer turf cleats are good, but only if u like low cut shoes and if u can find them, their rare now
i prefer wearing midcut nike barracuda's with the replaceable cleats

Warrior cleats have to be comfy, but im not sure.... they are made by new balance.

Some players and I were invited to check out the Reebok headquarters in Boston a few years back and they were in the process of making a new cleat that was a combination of a football cleat and soccer cleat. I don't remember what was called, but it had molded cleats like soccer but some of the cleats were blade cut (a longer skinnier cleat) rather than your traditional rounded cleats and they placed the cleats in the same positions that football cleats are in. Also, it was built on a little sturdier shoe than soccer cleats are. We thought it was pretty cool, but I don't ever remember seeing it in stores. It could be because this was the year before they pulled all of their collegiate sponsorships and took over the NFL.

Adidas low cut triax molded cleat have been my favorite pair for years... when one pair goes flat i buy another. I bought two pairs the last time I ordered some just cause they work for me. But on the other hand, Nike Custom ID cleats are really clean. They look nice and those that have worn them say good things.

In college I played with some Nike low top replaceables on grass and on astro turf I used some mid-top basketball shoes (they worked ok on dry stuff, but wet stuff was another story). Since then, I've picked up some Nike Speed TDs (low/molded). These Speed TDs are freaky light and work very well in grass and astro-grass, the long turf.

Get some damn football cleats, ie. Nike or Adidas. Wearing soccer cleats is a huge fauxpax.

We play on astroturf for all our home games and the best shoes to get for dry or wet are Nike football shoes. I don't know the exact name but they have little turf gripping bumps all over the bottom of the shoe. You can stop on a dime on them wet or dry. I also use them on the next turf and they get better grip than football cleats.
