the worst part about it is listening to some of the arguments that were given as to why it isn't being changed.

at least have the decency to say its all about the money, and that is the reason they're not changing things

same argument would still go on

instead of why is A-team #1 and B-team #2 and why isnt C-team playing in the bcs title game

it would be why is X-team #3 and Y-team is #4 and why didnt Z-team get in the playoffs

heard that on PTI or some show like that.... and i agree

32 team playoff. Team number 33 can bitch all they want, nobody will listen, and they won't be undefeated.

All we can hope is that the BCS continue to fail. 2014, will robots be playing then? It's all about the money for sure.

I'm a little surprised that they didn't just announce already that LSU wins the national championship again next year. Perhaps the Tigers will be 9-3 and ranked #13 in the next-to-last polls, but will leap-frog eleven teams ahead of them and be awarded the title game anyway, where they will surely crush a Big-10, Big 12 or Pac-10 opponent.

I agree with those sentiments.

I agree that they need to do a 16 or 32 team playoff.

Automatic bids from each BCS conference, and then take teams based on record and strength of schedule, just like the NCAA tourney does.

There are complaints every year about the NCAA Basketball tournament, but we allow those to fall on def ears.

For those that say the regular season would not be important are wrong, you still have to have a good season if you don't get the AQ.

I want to see the number 1 team play the number 4 team and then the next day see the number 2 team play the number 3 team

While the Super Bowl and all it's festivities are phenomenal, my favorite weekend duing the NFL playoffs is the Conference Championship Weekend.

So much potential, yet the BCS idiots don't see it.

You guys are...not only is the BCS the best ever and perfect...now we get more bowl games! Because the 84 we have aren't enough.

8 team playoff....so 3 rounds and 7 games total.

Round 1:
Orange Bowl
Sugar Bowl
Fiesta Bowl
Rose Bowl

Round 2
Orange Bowl
Fiest Bowl

Round 3 (championship)
Rose Bowl

...and then every 4 years 1 Bowl gets screwed out of an extra game. In this case its the Sugar. We already have it so each bowl technically has an extra game every 4 years. Throw in 2 more games are we're all set. I think the biggest argument for having a playoff is people would feel better off deciding who the #7 and #8 seed are rather than who are the #1 and #2 BCS teams are. #1 and #2 are huge, and you are basically awarding it a 50% chance of winning, whereas a #7 and #8 seed have a very small chance of winning the whole thing so its not that big of deal if you make a mistake on which is the last team in as the #8 seed.
