Before anyone gets all worked up about only choosing players from top teams, the better teams get to nominate more players, therefore, they will have more All-Stars.
Attack:
Cito Williams - SSU
Tyler Westfall - ASU
Marcus Wooden - Chapman
Midfield:
Ryan Westfall - ASU
Michael Farinelli - Chapman
Mike Clayton - Chapman
Face-off specialist:
Chris Smalls - Chapman
LSM/Specialist: ?
Defense:
Chris Schaible - UCSB
Phil Keebler - SSU
Ryan Hatheway - Cal Poly (I think this is the guy)
(can only go off guys I saw who stood out to me, probably some ASU and Chapman guys that should be on here.)
Goalie:
Anyone but Pringle. He has won this the past three seasons and I don't think he deserved it. I have never seen him play a good game against UCSB, but those are the only times I have seen him play. But I would like to give a shout out to Juan Carlos (Muncho) Almerido from UCSB. The guy really stepped it up for UCSB after the Cal and BYU games.
Offensive player of the year: Marcus Wooden - Chapman
Defensive player of the year: Chris Schaible - UCSB
Coach of the year: Mike Wood - Chapman

We played four WCLL teams this year, and three players who stood out are Middies Cameron Sampson of Cal and Marcus Sylva of SSU, and Defenseman Matt Ward of Chico State.
Sampson is the spark plug who really makes the Golden Bears go. He's a load at 6'5", with excellent dodging skills and the ability to break-down an opposing defense. Ditto that for Sylva of 'Noma, who flies a bit under the radar playing alongside the talented Cito, but who is a dangerous weapon who must be game-planned for by opposing defensive coaches. Ward is a solid team defender with sick takeaway skills. The guy also plays on the man-up unit, and has a strong shot with his long-pole.

The teams will be posted on-line sometime on Saturday.
Have they already been voted on, or do will still have some time to sway the voters?

Michael Parsons - ASU
Nick Johnson - ASU
Pete Noel - ASU
Robert Bocchicchio - ASU

Tyler Westfall - ASU
All kidding aside, non-ASU guys I saw this year so far that were legit:
Chris Schaible - UCSB
Ryan Hatheway - Cal Poly
Juan Carlos (Muncho) Almerido - Despite getting rocked in Tempe he showed he is a killer goalie, just didn't get any support from the rest of his team
Other than that we didn't get that much WCLL talent out here this year.

I will second the vote for Matt Ward... he doesn't get a lot of exposure playing up in Chico, but he's a great defender and contributes mightily on their man-up.

I guess leading your team to the National Championship game as a freshman and playing SB to a one goal game is a bad performance. Oh wait then there is the game against SB in 06 that Sonoma won where pringle dominated. Oh yeah, then in 06 at nationals when we lost to SB 5-6, he must of had a terrible game for you guys to put up a tremendous 6 goals.
Um lets see, in 06 he single handedly won the WCLL championship by stuffing Nick Dean one on one multiple times in the 4th and OT, and then dominated the Arizona game.
Granted this year UCSB put up a lot of goals but the whole team was playing bad, you can't put that all on one player.
Oh yeah, he also has the highest save % of any ranked WCLL team in the playoffs. Do you need more evidence to prove that you are wrong, cuz I have more.

I'm not saying Pringle is a bad goalie. Just saying that he hasn't been the best goalie in the WCLL for the past 4 seasons. He definitely shouldn't have won his freshman year. I think there are a lot of politics that go into all-stars and all-american(s). Pringle has benefited a lot from these politics...I did as well as a player. I was pretty surprised to see my name on some of those lists, but they sure look good on the wall.

Obviously there are politics that go into the all league and all american selections. Everyone has known that for a long time. But to say Pringle has never played a good game against SB is rediculous. I think he deserved it his freshman year because he played amazing all season, but everyone has their own opinion right. Maybe as a freshman it should have gone to someone else, but then you are just getting into more politics. But this year as a senior, there are no other goalies in the league with a resume to match.

I respect your opinion. Not to pick on you, but I guess Danny was right when he said that no one on the west coast knows how to spell ridiculous. Or was that poking fun at Danny's comment from yesterday? Could be our California accent.

Third that. Matt is a nasty defensemen, who has even excelled as a midfielder when Chico's offense was struggling. Fast, excellent takeaway skills, and an absolute cannon of a shot.

What about last year when Arizona EMBARRASSED Pringle in the semi-final game? Anyone have that score handy?
