Top 25 D2 Results for Poll #6
laxtube2 wrote:Pretty sure you said NO CHANCE to rise in the polls which is ridiculous. As for a 16 team tourney I don't see how the past should hurt the entire division. you could pull 12 teams from a couple conferences and have a great tourney. It seems to be the weaker conferences that have made consistency a problem.
Actually I said they are not going to make the tournament. Never said they were not going up in the polls.

Well i am glad I am not a voter about this issue but i would have to say i would move Ft. Lewis down a few spots. they really needed that win vs UNC to keep them in AL contention HOWEVER, they could pull the upset and win the whole thing. But Emory and SJU are praying that doesn't happen... actually everyone hoping for an AL is hoping that doesn't happen.
With the whole 7 goal loss to Westminster is hard to tell because West didnt play that many teams to compare them too besides RMLC teams. If they would have played SJU or UST then i could compare but since that didnt happen im just gonna wait till the conference games this weekend are over.

This time of season is just a waiting game for the conference playoffs. Exciting though. I do think having too many teams to choose from for Al's is a great thing. Although teams are going to feel left out it does show growth.

It might be helpful to look at how teams have faired against UST. They have played 6 top 25, including some of the teams praying for an AL (SJU, Emory, UNC etc.) UNC only lost to the tommies by 6, but dayton lost by 9? Maybe UNC should in fact be considered for the tourney

Fair enough. I agree, they can move up. I meant to say it hurts thier ability to move up.

Strength of schedules could be looked at also...
That weekend against UWEC, UST, SJU was a triple header...

It seems at this time of year that UNC is on the boards trying to justify their season, and why they should be there. This has been the case every year since AL bid has been around. Look, win your conference and then you don't have to campaign for a bid. Looking at their resume I don't believe they have an argument. I see inconsistent play by the teams they have won and lost against. No playoff appearance...being in the RMLC should not be an excuse for UNC's record.

poll
All I can say is that the next poll can't come out soon enough. Is there a certain time it will be released tomorrow?

This year we played UVSC, Ft Lewis, Montana St, Oregon, SJU and UST.
But IMO the winner of a game between Ft. Lewis and Montana St. should be a "bubble" team

IMO, Montana State has a better resume than UNC, Emory, and St. Johns. If they get to the finals against Westminny, they should get an AL to Texas as well.
Lacrosse in Montana...

Couldn't agree more. Montana St. also has a higher stregth of schedule on Laxpower than UNC.
