JZ and I were discussing last night the possibility of a LSA Alumni Game this Saturday at Texas Stadium before the DII Championship. Game would be around noon or so. We need to find out ASAP what kind of turnout we can get. Post back on here if you're interested or email me or Chris Park at the email addresses below. Please don't bother JZ with it as he has enough prep work to do this week.
Entrance fee of $25 would also include two tickets to the championship games Saturday.

Could be a great time if we got enough guys. Spread the word.

YOU weren't invited. LSA Alumni game means you once played in the LSA but no longer do.
I think the word alumni tricked you up so I checked out Webster...
Alumni: (noun) a graduate or former student of a specific school, college, or university or a former associate, employee, member, or the like

LAST year it was the LSA ALUMNI(Team old school) vs current LSA players(Team new school) so i figured it would be the same this year. but i'm glad you're clever enough to look up a word in a dictionary. the definition of alumni is finally one thing you have gotten right, ive been waiting all season. so since you've finally posted something on this forum that is actually somewhat useful, why dont you try doing it from now on! because when you are rude and condescending to people on here, it actually makes you about as cool as a fanny pack!
Coach Greene, if the game is like it was last year and you need players im in.i could probably get Zach K. and joey gentry to play as well. if its just alumni, i hope you get a great game going, and good luck in the semis.

Zantjer
I'll play only if I can see Jason "Swiss" Zantjer in the cage one more time. I would really like to see the league coaches included in this game also. Crazy Karl in cage fending off some Scazzero crank shots...brilliant!

Let me clarify that last year's Old School vs. New School event was a fastest shot competition and not an actual game. However, that is indeed what we are discussing for this year, which would be a first and could be a cool tradition moving forward.
Final details regarding the event will be released tomorrow morning. Thanks to everyone thus far who has shown support.

I can’t wait to see the patented Joel Stupka Face-Roll. I’ve heard rumors of it for years but I fear that my head will explode from amazement. I too would be intrigued by Karl in the cage. I hear his nickname in college was “the wall.” I think he appeared in a Frosted Flakes commercial while “winning the big game.”
Mr. Zantjer, I didn’t notice a response, I’m sure I just missed it. So can I assume that my donation includes a parking pass, game jersey, and commemorative t-shirt? You’re the best LSA commissioner since Karl Lynch.

No, Karl in the Cage
Sorry, but I won't be in the cage. And my nickname was not "the wall."

Final details regarding LSA Alumni Game!!!
Where: Texas Stadium
When: 2:00 PM start on Saturday (5/3)
Format: Two 30-minute running halves. Will have two refs but style of play is like summer league . . . no takeout hits or checks. This is for fun.
By popular demand, we will go Team Old School (Alumni) vs. Team New School (Current). That means we need roughly 15-20 players for each team, so get on the horn ASAP. I need to start getting names tonight and have everyone confirmed by Friday at the latest. Send info to me at tgreene@smu.edu.
Please remember mouth pieces. Also, wear white shorts and bring a dark/white reversible. We should have enough provided by Noah Fink at South Swell, but bring an extra just in case.
You will not be able to get your penny or participate in the game until you give JZ your $25. It's for a good cause (the league) and gets you two tickets to Saturday's championship games. Oh yeah, you also get to play in Texas Stadium.
Over the next few days, I'll post updated rosters of who I have confirmed just to make it interesting and encourage some friendly trash talking.
Get on the horn now!
