How is the loss any different than Oregon losing to an unranked Cal? They need to fall for the loss, plain and simple.

I don't think I've seen anybody mention anything about that. So far all I've seen is people talking about how terrible of a team BU is after beating BC. Can someone explain this logic to me? Especially when the only other team to hold BC to 5 goals is currently ranked #3.

I clearly understand it was sarcasm. And I think it would be absolutely ridiculous to say BU is a top 16 team after their game with BC. I just think it's unfair for everyone to rip apart a team for winning a game.

I am confused by these 2 posts...
B2 wrote:You won't hear about BU being a sleeper team by anyone out here in the East. It was a horrible loss for BC and believe me, they know it. Another case of them playing down to their local competition this year, as evidenced by other games that have been closer than they should have been.

Care to explain these to me Mr. B2, because they seem horribly contradictory?

Played down to there competition.... Didn't hustle, didn't get the GB's etc... BC thought they won the game when they stepped off the bus.

Here is the problem with a BC slide.....if you slide BC down then what do you do with some of the teams they beat in the last month i.e. FSU. Having beat FSU, played with CSU and Minn-Dul and Georgia, I think BC should not be hurt in this weeks polls.

If they lose to Northeastern then that is a whole other story.

Teams that have a late season stumble should not take a beating in the polls if they played a hard schedule and competed at a high level with the MCLAs best teams. BC, FSU, Florida are all top 10 to near top 10 teams but may suffer because of a late season upset and not because of a solid season and competitive schedule.

Lindenwood has beat Georgia, Utah and Texas A&M but are now ranked below them because of their recent losses to Michigan State & Illinois. A loss to an unranked team hurts you. From what you are saying the Lions should be somewhere around #10-15. Why have polls if certain teams have a "get out of jail free card" to use when they have a bad game?

I don't like this take one bit...I want the teams that are playing the best right NOW not the ones that almost beat so and so in January. This is BCS logic...teams change over a season and the polls should do so as well.

Then that criteria needs to be applied evenly and not just to SELC or east coast teams. It seems the west coast teams can lose and not get hurt. Everyone on the board looks at their "season" and how they performed with top level competition. Well that mindset needs to be extended out because surprise the west coast is not the only conference playing high level lacrosse.

Would change that more to a California statement, not the entire west coast

Examples please? How many unranked teams have UCSB and Sonoma lost to? What about ASU?

None, they have "quality losses" which makes them top ten teams, the more "quality losses" the better, especially when those losses are to West Coast teams
