Top 25 D2 Results for Poll #6

They had too small of a Division 2 division to qualify for an AQ.
This year, they have 6 teams:

so they will get an AQ this year.

The PCLL should have one this year. I believe they lost the AQ last year, because Salem bailed on the tourney the year before. I'm really hoping we've seen the end of the no show/early exit in DII.
Should it happen again for whatever reason, I think the punishment should include making the team that bails play baseball instead of lax in the spring the following year. Just a thought.

One would hope that is the case by Year 4 of the Division 2 tournament.
The poll information page was just updated to reflect this info (i.e. no AQ for CCLA Division 2 champion or RMLC Division 1 champion):

Those teams can earn an-large berth should they finish high enough in the poll and complete their out of conference required games.

Assuming that SJU repeats a tight loss to UST, and Emory pulls the upset over Dayton I think the top 10 could map out as follows...
1. Westminster
2. UST
3. GVSU
4. Emory
5. Dayton
6. SJU
7. Fort/Elon
8. Fort/Elon
9. SCAD
10. Western Oregon
This is only an educated guess based on records. Its playoff time and we all know that anything can happen. Anyone else care to make a guess?

If Fort loses to UNC they should fall below top 10 for sure. If they win I guess they could stay at 7 but they still have not beat a top 10 team. So moving up would be a stretch. What a crazy road to Nationals.
CCLA with GVSU and Dayton worthy of 2

why is elon under the team they beat?
I would put Elon and emory right next to eachother since they went 1-1 in the season. Emory did beat Elon early in the season you got to remember and they lost on a questionable no timeout call by the refs. I dont think you can put these two with any gaps in the poll.

If they do not make it to the UMLL championship, I would waive the at-large bid goodbye. But I would say they deserve an at large bid pending a close loss to UST in the championship.
Being devils advocate i would say for a team who is trying to be the best in the country, losing big to the number 2 (lost by 5) and 3 (Lost by 9) teams should put them behind emory since they only lost by 1 and only allowed UST to score 4 goals total... that is one defensive game.

oh, I thought they lost because elon scored more goals than they did ... both are excellent teams (ref are just part of the game) I think the what have you done for me lately rule applies here... elon went through three ranked opponents of in three days... maybe they should be getting the first round bye nod? just a thought

yeah, we will see how you feel if this happens to you. then lets talk. Also the ranked teams they beat are questionable with their strength of schedule. Its really up in the air who is better than who after the top 1. This year there is no clear team 2is better than 3 who is better than 4 who is better than...well you get the point.
I know if i was a coach and 4 others were yelling for time out in the final seconds of the game and you lose by one its ok to gripe just a little because the refs could and might have affected that games outcome.

I will release what i think after i see where elon should be near Dayton when Dayton and Emory play. Emory and Elon are pretty even on talent this year. played 2 times and the goal difference is 2 and 1. So if Dayton wins by alot then Dayton stays higher then elon if emory blows dayton out then elon should be ahead. the top 8 just got a lot more confusing.

the ranked teams they beat are questionable
I don't know man... I know UNCC (played St. T to overtime), SCAD, Elon and Emory (played St. T close) are all very good teams... Elon got on top of the heap with the final win... They are the only team with 5 top 25 wins as of now (3 in three days)
that sucks... it doesn't mean they would have won the game though... but they have a great opportunity to really shake things up playing dayton... and griping isn't going to get them any more prepared...I think dayton should be on notice about how fired this team is going coming out to play... talk about a game I would like to see.. good luck guys
