Sanctioning due to eligibility violations. It wasn't a big violation so no need for a big discussion.

Central Connecticut State University is forfeiting their win versus Southern Virginia, their loss versus Liberty, and their game yet to be played versus Stonehill. None of these games were PCLL games so it will not affect the standings.

Stonehill is a PCLL game, but a Div. A team. With only 4 Div. B teams in the PCLL, all will go to playoffs anyway.

BU won, 6-5. Close game and well played by both teams. It was a surprise to see BU come out with intensity - it seems they've got some young talent that took URI totally by surprise.

Both teams had a chance to win, although BU must have outshot URI by maybe 15 and dominated them in time of possession - they just couldn't find the net.

Great game by both teams.

WPI - 10
Buffalo - 11 (OT)

Just got back from Buffalo. As you can see, Buffalo beat us in overtime. They have some incredibly skilled long sticks up there. They're very good at taking the ball away, and have great stick skills. Our guys lost their heads a lot, and we ended up with 11 penalties. At one point, we were three men down. Anyway, Buffalo held a lead the whole game, but our guys hung in there, and finally tied it up with 30 seconds left on an unbelievable behind the back shot by Tommy Ryan. However, as time expired, one of our guys was called for unnecessary roughness and we started OT man down. Buffalo decided to run their best man up of the game, and scored about a minute into OT.

It was a fun trip, and we look forward to starting our PCLL schedule on Saturday against UNH.

Just want to expand on this a bit. Most Division A vs. Division B games count just like any other game in the standings. The reason that Stonehill vs. CCSU does not count is because both teams already had their 10 required PCLL games, so this was an extra game they wanted to play and would count just like a game versus another conference's team.

In NY for the weekend and just seeing these scores now.

UNH vs. UConn - Wish UNH pulled off this score versus Cal! Unfortunately, that loss will probably cost them their Top 25 ranking.

BU vs. URI - Very impressed BU pulled this out for the first game of the season. As an alum and former coach, my heart will always be for BU and knowing a lot of the team, I am thrilled to see them get a win to open the season.

WPI vs. Buffalo - Tough, tough loss. Nearly beating a quality program like Buffalo means PCLL teams had better watch out against WPI. Could be a sleeper team this season if they avoid penalities in future games.

Bottom line, I love what I have seen this season from the PCLL. I will work to catch what games I can and get an article posted (hoping for at least one for every team). This is going to be a competitive seaon, so practice hard and stay sharp.
