Unfortunately ( ) Probably both go to the Canucks. Co coach of the year and to Manning. He clearly has been dominant and done what has been asked of him. The coaches are doing a great job with a very young team.
Close Second - JB - kid is a soph and scores crazy amounts of points.

I forgot he was a sophomore... We were just having this discussion & I agree about Manning... but Blackmore has to be in the conversation.... I can't believe he's a sophomore. If those 2 get MVP & Offensive MVP, who's the D MVP?
...and you don't need a forum, you need a thread.... like the D2 playoff predictions thread...

Towner is also a Sophmore and if Blackmore is in the discussion Towner must also be in the running. Looks like the PNCLL is going to have another 4 year battle between talented attack much like Coffman and Christians. Last year the Ducks cleaned up, this year it may be the Clan that take the majority if not all of the individual awards.

i could see Idaho's coach being a dark horse in the coach of the year race. what he's done with that program, comparing where they were the last couple years and this year is nothing short of miraculous.
offensive mvp - definitely between towner and blackmore. both sophomores, similar points total

I don't cast Washington's votes -- that will be done by our Head Coach Fred Wilmot. But if I was voting Ryan Hanavan gets the nod from me for Coach of the Year. I agree that Brent and Jeff are terrific co-coaches and have done a great job at SFU this season. But it is also a fact that the Clansmen have a very, very talented cast of players for Hoskins and Cathrea to lead. What Ryan has done with a much less talented Vandals team is truly remarkable, and I don't say this as a "knock" on the UI players. I sat there two weeks ago and watched an Idaho team that had (at the time) never won a single PNCLL game ever go toe-to-toe with SFU for four quarters in a 14-7 loss. UI plays great team lacrosse, a trait that can only be a product of coaching. UI has a roster of players almost exclusively from their home state, where high school lax is much less developed and competitive against longer-established programs from Washington, Oregon and elsewhere.
What Coach Hanavan accomplished this season, and the incredible one-year improvement in Vandals Lacrosse make the COY award a no-brainer for me.

This really goes to show how great JB and BT have done against the best teams this season. . .they both definitely showed up in the biggest games.
I think this is a great comparison, and I hope voters look at how players did against the best competition. . .not when they throw in 12 points to pad their stats against the weakest teams in the league. I'd like to see a similar comparison for the D2 and the leading attackmen there. . .but of course I won't take the time to do it. . .

Another note on comparisons
JB also had 5 goals and 4 assists against Colorado, which isn't posted yet. Both BT and JB are deserving, but team play and styles differ. JB has more assists and creates. BT plays in a different system. Both are great finishers, although JB is location, fakes, vision and LAX IQ, and Towner is cuts, quick stick and hard release. As for stats, JB has had limited play and a lilmited role in a number of games, but I assume that is true for BT as well. Both are 1st team players, and will be fun to watch over the next two years.

What about Calvin Davis from WOU? From what I remember playing against WOU twice last season, he was the only guy on that squad who had a solid left and right at full tilt. I am pretty sure he got hurt or just didn't get a lot of time, but when I was making our video recapping the season, I remember seeing #10 on film running full speed making a play then getting absolutly smoked by Snell, only to my amazement pop up like nothing even happened. I thought he had high lacrosse IQ and would be a threat if he was given a larger role. Everytime he was playing it was at full speed and he never seemed to favor L or R. He has 78 pts already also which I think is the highest point total in a while (unless Sadler had higher). I haven't seen him play this year so maybe I am off, but my brother confirmed that he is pretty solid and has been lighting it up all year. Feel free to correct me if I am way off base on this one since I haven't seen any games this year, I might be thinking of someone else.

I agree wholeheartedly. Cal makes it so easy for me as an attackman because he has no fear in either hand and can go full boar with either of them, so I don't need my left as much . Obviously he still favors his right, but he could probably start on most PNCLL DII teams as a lefty attackman. He averaged 6.2 ppg against the five other play-off teams in the DII, and if you throw in his stats from our game against, then ranked, Pepperdine and a top 25 DI Claremont team he is still at 5.3 ppg. I can't see how is not on more people's radar as a first teamer for attack and possibly offensive MVP. Although I am biased...
The true test of a player's character is not how he wins, but how he loses.

Ya he is good I like him as a player and that comes from an SOU alum! As an attackman I love middies like him who can push the ball and make it happen. 78 pts as a middie, is pretty beefy at any level!
Edit: I just saw he is an attackman per your post, regardless 78 pts is a nice total for the reg season.

I left Davis off of my list because i based my list off guys that stuck out in my mind when i played against them. I know that davis did have 3g/2a against us but for some reason i can't even remember playing against the guy. Could be due to the fact that we played WOU over 2 months ago, or for some other reason. But i will agree that his numbers are very good and he should and will definitely be on one of the all conference teams.

The other reason may be the fact that he is built like a munchkin. Everything about his game is quiet, really. He scores and scores and passes and goes left and goes right and takes hits and gets GB's in front of the goal, rides hard. The kid is a phenom. I played with him in summer league two years ago and was so mad when I saw him on the WOU sideline the next fall cause he is a player flat out.
Last season I felt like he took advantage of better players around him taking the attention away from him. But watching him in three games this season there is no doubt I was wrong and that he draws a crowd on defense and still makes plays. He really is one of the best in the league, but much like Colin Burke at CofI you just don't realize how many plays he is making while you play against him.
