Creighton and DePaul haven't faired as well as I would have thought. Harding has been solid for years and could certainly take the GRLC bid if they keep playing like they are.

That being said, I think we all know how the the GRLC tourney is usually pretty interesting. Does Creighton drop all the way out of the poll, or do they just hang on? What about Mines, do they move up?

Any word on the final? I haven't been able to find that score. I'm still stunned that Creighton pulled the doubleheader on Saturday.

My bad, I swapped out Metro with Mines. I'm not sure how Creighton faired the rest of the weekend, but a doubleheader anywhere in the RMLC is no joke of a day.

Just out of curiosity, do you know or see trends of the voters taking doubleheaders into account in the polls? Creighton is a far better team than our score indicates and I'm anxious to see the Mines final.

What happens of St Thomas beats St. Johns in the regular season finale and then again in the UMLL Tournament. Is SJU out then? Or do they grab the last at large bid because teams are suposed to lose to higher seeds?

i would assume that the final scores of those games would be the determining factor in that decision. If the Johnnies take a couple of beatings at the hands of St. Thomas then I would think that they might drop out of at large contention. At that point their quality wins would be over UNC and Utah Valley who have dropped off since the games happened. Yes, you are obviously "supposed" to lose to a higher ranked team, however when you are both within the top 5 then they should be tight games with St. John's having a legitimate shot at winning either contest. I think that if they lose badly twice then they are showing that they might not be a top five 5 team this season. That's how I see it at least. However they hold their own destiny in their hands and hopefully they are concentrating on controlling their path to Dallas instead of letting others control it for them.

Just got back from the UST vs. SJU game. Sloppy play all around. The game was fast with a lot of up and down. Both teams threw the ball away a lot. The biggest difference was that UST seemed to enjoy the ball a lot more. SJU never really got into an offensive rhythm - a credit to UST's D. The game was ugly, SJU was just a bit more ugly. I suspect the game will be much better should they meet in the conf. finals on Sunday.

A couple of players went to the Mines/Creighton game and said the score was 11-6 Mines. Can anyone confirm?

Couldnt of said it better. I know SJU had a lot of injuries, but they threw the ball away a lot.

luckily SJU has a shot at a rematch before the next poll comes out. Also, Emory vs Dayton has a chance to mix up the polls. GVSU has two conference games before the next poll, nothing as big as the other teams. Potential for a shuffle in the top 10 come next poll if UST can hold off SJU or if SJU gets upset by a lower ranking.

GVSU beat a team that has great potential next year with their impressive Attack and Midfield. 19-4.

First question, when does the next DII poll come out? April 29th?

Also, how much of a surge will Elon make in the next poll? I assume they will automatically move ahead of Fort Lewis and Emory with their SELC tournament win. Since St. John's lost to St. Thomas, could Elon possibly move ahead of St. John's. And what if Emory beats Dayton? How far up will Emory go and how far down will Dayton go?

Thoughts anyone?

I don't know why you would assume that they would automatically move ahead of Ft. Lewis. Just because a team is idle does not mean they are suddenly a worse team. Elon's top 25 wins this season are two 1 goal games in the last week. Ft. Lewis has an impressive resume against the top 25 for the entire season so I can't see them dropping down, especially since their activity since the last poll has no losses and includes beating #12 UVS. I also don't know if the wins in the SELC tournament are convincing enough to vault Elon ahead of three teams in the top 10. I think Elon's wins show that they are ranked about where they should be. As to the possibility of Elon moving ahead of Ft. Lewis, Emory, St. John's, and Dayton all in one poll....... I would be shocked to see that happen (in neither a good or bad way mind you, just outright shocked)
As it stands right now if a new DII poll were due out tomorrow I could see the top 10 coming up like this:

1.) Westminster
2.) St. Thomas
3.) Dayton
4.) GVSU
5.) Ft. Lewis
6.) Elon
7.) St. John's
8.) Emory
9.) SCAD
10.) WOU

This is how I personally would see the poll coming out. Although in my opinion I would have GVSU in the #2 spot and I would bump St. Thomas and Dayton back one spot each. I know I will catch heat for suggesting that St. Thomas move down after beating St. John's. However GVSU has beaten St. Thomas, who has beaten Dayton, who has beaten St. John's. This seems to set up a natural pecking order if you ask me. I think that the St. Thomas/St. John's game should serve as moving St. John's into the area of being a bubble team and solidifying St. Thomas' claim to deserving a top 5 spot and going to nationals. However just because they won that does not mean that they are a better team than GVSU (in fact the score of their game says GVSU is the ebtter team), and getting the best teams at the top is what this is about right?
