After the SELC teams that had been crying for better rankings over the last few weeks all beat up on each other (neither Florida team made the conference championship). Do the results help or hurt their league? Georgia is obviously a lock at this point, but what happens to Florida losing to an unranked Auburn team and Florida State losing as well? And where does Va Tech fall into place?
It definitely has to create an even bigger head-ache for pollsters, as well as for supporters of the Florida schools who now must be praying to even make the tournament

I assume you mean fans of SELC teams who have been "crying"? None of the players or coaches post on here, just us used to be's and never were's. But I still should be out practicing my left instead of posting....
I think VT joins UGA in Dallas but FSU is going to need some help. I haven't looked closely at the poll in relation to recent games but I think all of the conference leaders would need to hold serve and one or two teams that are ranked ~6-10 would need to disappoint in their respective conf tourney for FSU to make up enough ground and grab an at large bid.

I think FSU should make the tournament. They would definitely be a threat in Dallas. they've been very competitive in every game this season and are good enough to play with the teams in the NC. If FSU had played auburn in the semis they would have made it to the finals just like va tech. I don't think you can drop FSU that much for losing to the SELC champions (#15 who will probably move up to #11 or so in the next poll).
I think both Va Tech and FSU should get an invite to dallas

Here's how I see it...
The top 9 won't change. Maybe Chapman will pick up some more #1 votes, but that's about it.
10. Oregon - will drop out of the top 15 after losses to Cal and Sonoma
11. Florida State - will drop to #13
12. Boston College - will move up to #10
13. Florida - will drop out of top 15
14. Virginia Tech - will move up to #12.
15. Georgia - will move up to #11
16. Colorado - will move up to #14
17. Cal Poly SLO - will stay out of top 15
18. Texas A&M - will move up to #15
19. Utah - will drop out of top 20
20. Lindenwood - will stay about where they are

I think you got it right DG. Good objective view on the situation.

Colorado doesn't deserve jack squat. There is no way they deserve to move into the top 15 because of Florida's loss. They haven't done anything to legitimize themselves. Keep them where they are.

Lindenwood suffered a healthy loss to now unranked Illinois. I can see Ill grabbing a top (25) spot and I would say Lindenwood drops down a few, or even out, but I know how partial those votes will go and can't imagine Lwood losing even spots, to be honest.

Tmat,
I'm not sure if you were directing this at me, but just to be clear. I didn't say that they deserve it, or whether they are properly placed, I gave my opinion as to what I thought would happen in 2 days when the next poll is released.
Colorado needs to beat CSU to have any chance at an at-large berth. And even then, it might not be enough.
The SELC's representation in the polls has been debated ad-nauseum. FYI, I felt like they had a very good chance to send 4 teams to the tournament until Florida lost to Auburn. Now, they will most likely only send 3 teams.

I think CU has to beat CSU and then beat BYU in the RMLC tourney to even get into the conversation.

Yes of course, didn't mean to insinuate that the teams themselves had anything to do with it.

Colorado has beaten three T25 ranked teams, and lost to 3 T25 ranked teams and an unranked team. Floria has beaten three T25 ranked teams, and lost to 3 T25 ranked teams and an unranked team. The Auburn loss makes it two losses to unranked teams now for Florida.
The problem is... none of the teams 10-18 are doing much of anything to solidify their claim to be at the NC. It's gong to come down to voter discretion.

Only loss that Florida has to an unranked team that hasnt been in the T25 all year is Auburn...All other loses have come from teams that are currently in the T25.....All loses to T25 teams, except for Chapman (which IMO is the best team in the nation, have been by 1 goal
VTech did make it to the SELC championship game, but look at their SOS from throughout the year. They took the easy way to the top. Any team can schedule mickey mouse teams with 2 hard games all year to get a higher seed in their conference tournament. Wins: 2 ranked teams (FSU and UGA) and a loss to ranked UCF....
Invite to the national tournament should be a cummulation of the year and if they are thinking about sending 3 teams from the SELC then voters should compare SOS along with wins between FSU, VTech, and Florida.

LMU was unranked at the time.

I think FSU has an outside shot of making it at large, depending on their ranking in the next pole and the results of the conference tournament.
Oregon still plays BYU and possibly SFU (in the PNCLL tournament).
Colorado has games against CSU and the RMLL tournament.
If both of those teams lose out (which is a good possibility) I don't see anyone else who deserves a spot more.

If you want to go that route, VTech lost to UCF when they were unranked at the time. They also refused to play Florida and FSU when they travelled to the state and decided to play unranked UCF and UMiami
