purdue did not have a game this weekend due to ball states mishaps on their road trip last weekend. i am unaware right now if it counts as a forfeit or not. if so this would eliminate miami. we are waiting for scores anxiously as well.

i would assume this would be counted as a "no contest" instead of a forfeit based on previous posts. how this would affect the playoffs i dont know, cause based on the decision it eliminates one team from contention. ill let JP or somebody else give the final verdict on that one...

well if that is the case, wouldn't that clinch for wvu? i know that we had to 'win' out to have a chance. i can say that there would be quite an uproar in west lafayette if we were to be eliminated by default.

Technically, the rule book says it has be declared a no contest, not a forfeit. However, the CCLA can determine how to count it toward the standings in whatever way they see fit. I guess we wait to see what the CCLA board comes up with.

I also failed the consider the chance of a 3-way tie (doing this while getting ready for finals not the best of ideas...) If WV lost to Buffalo and losses to Miami, and Purdue gets their 2nd win either by beating of Indiana or if the Ball St game is considered a win, 3 teams will have 2 wins. Then I believe it goes to goal differential. So still a lot that can happen. But beating Indiana still in your best interest...

yikes. once again the ball state game would hurt us there too. i believe the goal differential would deffinitely be skewed with the no decision game or even if its a forfeit because i believe that would be counted as 1-0 correct?

I would imagine the board woud throw out the results against Ball State for all teams if it came down to that.

I agree JP, tiebreakers of this nature must only include common opponents.
