Hello All

As the season is coming into its final weeks, I would like to encourage the coaches, presidents, and players of GRLC teams to keep in contact with me about upcoming games, player profiles, and off the field news. I will also be posting links to GRLC articles (starting with the three from this week) into this thread. I do browse through the boards frequently, so you could leave a post here, or simply email me using the address below.

Again, please contact me with any news, story ideas, or important games.

Always happy to help:
Mike B.
CollegeLax.us correspondent to the GRLC

Afterthought:
I would love to contribute more GRLC players to the "Under the Helmet" series (so far we only have one with Black from Illinois, i know there are many more great players in the GRLC).
Coaches, please feel free to email me with a good head-shot, or a picture of a particular player during game-time, as well as that player's email address, and i will do my best to get the article up.
Thank you for your time,
Mike

Mike--

As a cross-conference journalistic "rival" let me just say how much I've enjoyed your first-rate coverage of GRLC news and action. The MCLA is a better place for your efforts.

Nothing to do with lacrosse, but certainly regional news:

http://www.cnn.com/2008/US/04/18/illinois.earthquake/

I slept right through it, but according to my fiance, the walls of my house were shaking back and forth by inches.

Mike,

The stories of late have been really cool. I think it goes without saying that the big powerhouses always, or are more likely to get, coverage, but I have really enjoyed being able to read up on some of the smaller schools. That's what interests me; who are the up and comers, who are the teams that are on the rise and are overlooked. I commend you for all the work I know you have put into it and I hope to continue to see it!

You're doing a great job and I would love to see the conference and league support this type of thing more.

I appreciate the sentiments, guys. I'm more than happy to cover any aspect of the GRLC to help gain more national attention for the conference, it is my pleasure to do so. But it's the players and coaches doing the work, i just talk about it.

Besides, This thread is a way for me to fish for stories, not for compliments. I would like to continue to encourage players, coaches, and administrators to contact me about important games/news that deserves the attention. send me an email (or a pm, if you would rather) if you would like to comment on any game you've played in, coached, or even witnessed for that matter.

NOW PAGING ALL GRLC TEAMS

With so many playoff implications this weekend, i think it is very important for those of you with games to play between now and next friday to contact me this week with what you think of these games. Any constructive input would be fine, but there are certain questions that i would like to see answered:
1) what are the implications of your upcoming game?
2) How is your team approaching this match-up? any pre-game game-plan?
3) Who will you be looking to for leadership on the field? anyone players whose effort will be game-deciding?
4) What are your hopes for the conference tournament?

Please send me an email, or private message with your thoughts/predictions, so i can get to work on publicizing the GRLC final week in the CollegeLax news.

Thank you for your time,
Mike

Not sure how you want to go about this, but there is a very important game between Wheaton and Depaul tonight. It could decide the last d2 playoff spot, and should be a great game.

If not, then the winner will be determined Sat. when Depaul plays Augustana. If anyone has contact info with their coaches, they should try and get in touch

Libertyville 16 Vernon Hills Cougars 0

sorry to stray from college, but i mean I had to put him in his place.

anyways, can't wait for the Illinois Lindenwood match-up on May 4th (unless there is an upset which will only save me my drive down to St.Louis to watch)

Really, has it gotten that bad? when I was there it was only an 11 point game.

But anywho-

Everyone should be encouraged to make it out to Lindenwood next weekend!
And keep up with Collegelax.us for news covering both D1 and D2 tournaments.
