RMLC D2 East Bubble Teams

RMLC D2 East Bubble Teams

Postby CSM_LAX on Fri Apr 18, 2008 12:49 pm

The playoff picture for the RMLC D2 East could become interesting with tonight's matchup between Northern Colorado and Mines. Montana State has already clinched the #1 seed for the East. The #2 seed could go to Metro, Mines, or Northern CO.

In order to make it to SLC each team will need the following to happen:

Metro - Mines loses to UNC and Regis
Mines - Win vs. UNC or lose to UNC by 5 or less and win vs. Regis
UNC - Win @ Mines by 6 or more and Mines wins vs. Regis

Metro is already finished with D2 East play so Mines and UNC are left to control their own destiny. I will be at the UNC at Mines game tonight and hopefully this game will draw some local interest. Tonight's matchup between UNC and Mines has been rescheduled and the MCLA and RMLC sites have not been updated. This game will be played on the IM South field at 17th Street and Elm Street in Golden, CO. 80401 at 6 p.m. tonight; April 18th, 2008.

See you there!

Is anyone telling Matt Elsner (scheduling official) or Anton Schulzki (officials assignor) of these changes.

The MCLA and the RMLC website will be updated when those individuals are contacted.

I'll go ahead and make the change now - but these things need to be taken care of well in advance.

Thanks.

Ok, so Anton and the refs know.

In the future, let's make sure these are updated as soon as possible on the MCLA and RMLC websites. Our legitimacy is on the line here.

SUMMARY:

If Mines beats Regis, they go to playoffs.

If Mines loses to Regis, Metro goes to playoffs.

There is no scenario where UNC goes to playoffs.

BREAKDOWN:

Trying to determine the #2 seed for east. Currently we have a 3-way tie.

Metro, Mines, UNC (all will be 3-2 IF, and it is a big IF, UNC beats Wyoming and Mines beats Regis).

Mines plays Regis this Saturday and must win to stay in the three way tie to go to tie breaker. If Mines loses, Metro and UNC (provided they beat Wyoming wednesday would be tied with 3-2 records). Metro would be #2 seed based on head to head (Metro beat UNC).

If Mines wins vs Regis (three teams would then be 3-2), Mines would then be #2 seed based on tie breaking procedures (goal differential).

Mines: Win Metro 14-4 (+8 (no award greater than 8 allowed for routes)) Loss 12-8 UNC (-4) Goal differential +4

Metro: Win 12-11 UNC (+1) Loss Mines 14-4 (-8) Goal differential -7

UNC: Win Mines 12-8 (+4) Loss Metro 12-1 (-1) Goal differential +3
