Personally, I think the answer is clearly the Texas A&M Aggies. Minus Texas and North Texas, no one has really put up a fight against them in the LSA. I think that this year's D1 will end up just like last year's with Texas A&M over Texas for the trophy (assuming the bracket will be set up the same with North #1 v. South #2 and South #1 v. North #2).

Are there still games to be played? On the schedule I see TCU at Tulane this weekend and Austin College at Tulane next weekend, but I thought I heard one or both of those games might have cancelled. Can anyone confirm?

A&M still probably has to win out in order to go to nationals. They are ranked 18th which isn't enough for an at large. Its conceivable that people below them could lose and drop, but if A&M lost in the playoffs they would probably drop as well.

None of those games are Division II games, and will not have an impact on the Playoffs for DII.
I like A&M over Texas in the Final. A&M has a lot of playmakers from their team last year including playoff tested Jolly in net, and he proved to be huge for them last year.
In DII:
Southwestern is clearly the best team in the league and they showed it by blow out wins in every conference game this season. Still has trinity to play. They have the best offensive player in Webb (61 points) and a good goaltender.
St. Edwards is the second best team in the conference, and has played tough all year.
Trinity has a solid team, but has not traveled well this year, which makes one wonder what kind of showing they will have for a first round playoff game against St. Edwards. Good goaltender.
SFA has a good team, but rely heavily on Mike Issacson. This team can score, but does not have the goaltending to compete with the upper teams in DII.

LSA Division II
Southwestern and St. Edwards are on a different level from the rest of the division. Trinity and SFA cannot even match up because both teams barely have a team to compete.
As for the playoffs, rumor has it that SFA is out. Trinity will probably get destroyed by Southwestern. I am guessing Southwestern will play UTA or Austin College and St. Edwards will play Trinity.
In my opinion, Southwestern does well because of great coaching and a nice program, not because of talent.
Lets get pumped for Dallas!

Well if the rumors are true that SFA is out, that would put Austin College in the Playoffs, as AC beat us at UTA for the first time by 2 goals.

Aggies aren't ranked high enough to get an at large. Has the LSA ever sent two teams to nationals? old guys, help us out...
Beware of the teams flying under the radar. No pressure + nothing to lose = Golden State Warriors syndrome

I agree that SU has great coaching and a nice program (while I don't see how a "nice program" necessarily helps a team do well), but to say that there is no talent is nonsense.
SU has many of the most talented players in the conference, so if you are saying that there is no talent in LSA II then I guess we have different views of talent and can't really argue with each other. But if you think that there is talent in LSA II, where else is it gonna be found?
I'm not saying that SU has the ONLY talent in the LSA II, but it has more than any other team and that is a large part of why we win.

As an old guy on these boards, the LSA, since the inception of the USLIA National Tournament through the creation of the MCLA has never sent more than one team to the tourney, always just the AQ. There was one year, I believe in 2002, when the Aggies won the LSA Championship, Texas was in the mix for an at large that year, although one was not handed to them.

SEU vs SU
Southwestern has very talented players. I love playing them because its always a good game. Coaching has alot to do with it, but no matter how good your coaching is someone with no talent will not produce like SU does. They lost to westminster by 3 goals or something, and westminster can hang with most mcla DI schools in the country. SEU vs Southwestern in the championship is going to be one hell of a game.
