Just got back from the UST vs. UNC game. UST took the game from the begining. They moved the ball well and gave UNC fits when trying to clear. The score at half was 11-2. UNC scored early in the first quarter and then didn't score again until the last minute of the half.
UNC has athletes and lax players, but didn't seem to put it all together. The talent was there, but their inability to clear and UST's face-off performance seemed a bit too much.
SJU vs. Dayton was 6 all at the half when I left. Dayton had been hit for 2 three minute stick penalties. SJU capitalized on a few EMO situations and continues to run the transition game well.

Not what I was expecting at all. I'd love to hear some details from this game.

Sad that people are surprised that Dayton is good, thankfully enough pollsters believed those who had seen them and looked at their roster, so as to not make it look like a huge upset.James Foote wrote:Not what I was expecting at all. I'd love to hear some details from this game.

On Dayton's game report for the SJU game it says they took 77 shots and that their goalie made 31 saves!! That's a ton of shooting for a 60 minute game.

#17Harding over #16 Southwestern
HU 16
SU 10
On a side note, wow 15-8 dayton... Whats up with that? It IS a huge upset, they were one spot apart; the game should have been a little closer than that. Dayton is a no joke team, but I thought SJU was too.

The game was very even till half time than, Dayton pretty much stopped SJU from clearing the ball, and that was the difference maker. Several passes were deflected or caught by Dayton attack and middies around the midfield, creating odd rushes and dominating in the possession. However, both goalies had great saves, as for 77 shots, maybe 50 combined, but both goalies for each team played great. A very exciting game to watch, one of the best ones I have seen in a long time.
