President Booed?

I just watched the President throw out the first pitch at the Nationals game. It sounded like the fans booed him. Does anyone else have a problem with fans booing the President?

Oh and he threw a pretty good ball. It was not his best, but he got it to the plate.

I think it would fall under the category of free speech. While the vast majority of citizens have respect for the office of POTUS, perhaps a significant portion feel that this particular one is less deserving of respect.

Hmm, it is an elected position and thus subject to public scrutiny. If it is ok to cheer the POTUS, then it is ok to boo him/her. They come into that position, not by divine right but through the will of the people (ok, call me ol' fashioned). Definitely a free speech issue and I would boo him for the simple fact that he was at a baseball game and he ruined my beloved Rangers now so many years ago.

Then again, the Nats suck and there is no parking around that stadium. You either park three miles away at RFK or take the Metro which has added no additional trains to alleviate the traffic during games and rush hour. Also, it looks like Baghdad around that stadium. All the construction without the sniper fire and IEDs. Hey D.C., how are your schools working out for you?

If President Bush ruined the Rangers then what has Tom Hicks done to the team? I cannot believe how bad the Rangers pitching is every year. I thought I read someone list Roger Pavlik as one of the great Ranger starting pitchers. I thought I had lost my mind when I read that, and then I tried to think of some of the great Ranger pitchers. The problem was that I still have to make him one of my top 10. Can you believe that Roger Pavlik makes that list?

I've been a Ranger fan since '86. Scott Coolbaugh was my idol that summer. He was out of baseball by the next. Bush gave way to Hicks. Once the stadium was built Bush bailed and left Hicks as the majority owner. I gots no love for him either. Also, the Stars have poor ice and I am no fan of Liverpool either.

I was a huge Pete Incaviglia fan for years. Then it was all about Nolan Ryan. I used to love going to Arlington Stadium for games and listening to Rangers take the field to Dire Straits. There was something about the old stadium that I miss. I cannot wait until I get to watch some baseball this year.

On a side note I do have some extra tickets to sell to the Yankees game on Friday. They are amazing seats.

It is actually very interesting to watch. It would be nice however, if the bills were actually read.
