Off the subject, but SLU v. Rockhurst has been moved due to extensive flooding in the St. Louis area costing us our normal field and back-up field.
We will play at 4:30 at Pierre Park...
Directions from 270 and 70
Take 270 South to Olive
Make a left on Olive (East) and go about 2-4 miles.
You will come to a light for Spoede Road (It is one light West of Lindbergh Rd)
Make a Right (South) on Spoede
You will go down less than half a mile and you will see Spoede Elementary on your Right
You will also see a little, red wooden sign that will say Peire Park on the right hand side of the road on the Northern edge of Spoede Elementary
The sign will indicate you want to make a left hand turn
Make a left at the subdivision the sign points to.
You will go about 1/2 a mile down this subdivision before you see the park and the fields and self-doubt may creep in that you turned on the wrong road, but you have not. The park is easy to see. This is where we will be playing

Ouch...I bet Stevens never had a loss with a 17 point goal differential. Losing 19-2 makes me think the Illini were way overrated this season. How do they only score two goals with the talent on that team?
That or you could assume that the Wolverines are just that solid a team this year!

Augustana 0
That is not a typo. GVSU came out and killed it from wire to wire. Augustana had maybe, and I mean maybe 5 shots on goal. GVSU is probably one of the best d2 teams I have ever seem play. They are deep at all positions. The only knock I might possibly have on them is the class of their coaching. They seemed to complain a ton at ticky tack things, and they left starters in the entire time, even after the game was well out of hand. There were a few injuries in the game, so the last thing was what surprised me the most.
GVSU also played UW-EC. I think that one was 26-3 or something.
I'm off to dinner with my lady now, but I'll report on the Augustana/UW-EC game after it ends. I think its at 7pm.
This loss definitely hurts Augustana, but hopefully they can go 1-1 on the weekend to not lose total face.

26-0
As for the coaching i am not going to comment
As for leaving the starters in, we have 5 attack man. One got injured but tried playing. Another got injured and couldn't play. So we had the starting three in a lot but we did put middies in their spot throughout the second half. I can honestly say we were there to run our offense which we did. We played our last two lines of Middies the second half. Line 1 D was taken out at half. The score breakdown will show that our team got the ball to everyone. I do not like getting into discussion about our team so i am going to end it with that breakdown. Thanks scooter for coming out, too bad i didn't get too meet you, even went to the casino boat and was looking for your hat.

From MCLA.US...
Harding 11
Dayton 15
Daytons comments were...
Harding defense stepped up and played Dayton tough. Harding LSMs shut down Dayton middies in the second quarter. A close game, that featured excellent Goalie play by Harding.

Augustana 7
UW-EC 8
This game was much more entertaining to watch, and things got real close in the fourth. Augustana has some very loud, very intoxicated fans. But that only added to the atmosphere. It was nice to see the emotion, but I'm sure others would disagree about the language. It was very windy and cold, but the 60 or so drunks braved the weather to come out and provide solid entertainment.
As for the game, neither team looked that good. Both had problems on both offense and defense and running a settled offense.. Augustana definitely lacks depth. They only played about 2 middie lines, and they were all gassed by the end of the third. UW-EC has some big poles, and a few solid attackmen, but seemed to lack the playmakers necessary to put really dominate any phase of the game.
I know the final score has UW-EC winning, but Augustana definitely looked like the better team down the stretch.
On a more positive note, the Augustana goalie is sick. I don't know who he is or where he came from, but he made some incredible saves, and is an excellent decision maker. If he had better stick handlers around him they would be a stacked defense. It's unfortunate his efforts came in a losing effort.
Neither team, IMO, really lived up to the hype they garnered in the preseason. Feel free to PM me if you want more specific info about any of the three teams in Rock Island today.
Total sidenote. I would like to thank the Isle of Capri Casino and Resort for hitting 0/00 on the roulette table 4x in 9 spins. The $820 looks very good in my wallet.
Gvlax- sorry I missed you. Good luck tomorrow. Sorry if you felt like I was bashing your coach, it wasn't really my intent. I just called it like I saw it, but obviously I did not know the severity of the situation. I hope your players have a quick recovery.

Dordt's results from the Holy War Tournament at Wheaton...
Dordt- 4
Calvin- 9
Calvin has some good talent and led us the whole game. It was a cold night, but it was great to play outdoors.
Dordt- 9
Hope College- 8
We played a great first half and led 8-1 at halftime. Had a bit of a meltdown in the second half but held on for the W.
Thanks to Wheaton for hosting the tournament, we appreciate being invited and had a great time. Great facilities! It seemed like every time I looked around there were Wheaton players/coaches/volunteers around helping teams get settled in and making sure things were running smoothly. Thanks again!

I would like to reitterate The comments of Dordt's poster. Wheaton was a great host and the Tournament went off without a hitch. Great facilities. An excellent weekend for Lacrosse. Thanks Wheaton.
