Key was CSU's Zone forcing a lot of outside shots, maybe that is what flip was talking about "new stuff" that he brought to the table the other day in practice. Guess CSU's goalie made a lot of sick saves.

Personally I am surprised in a total of only 12 goals for the game. Sounds like a good game by both teams. Congrats Rams. I am sure the Ducks will bounce back and be ready to meet at the Dance

Thanks Brauck, it was a rough game for us, and thanks for the confidence in us, its good to know some of the alumni still have our best interests at heart. I'd like some perspective from fans at the game, I can't put my finger on what exactly went wrong for us besides CSU's keeper playing great and poor shooting on our part. Good game Rams. I think I'm going to live at sea level for the rest of my life BTW.

Per your request, one view from the sidelines, from someone with a beginner's lax knowledge - so be warned. 1st, give credit to CSU for packing it in defensively, strong zone defenses, winning ground balls, and winning face offs. CSU had lots of energy, and Oregon looked exhausted before the game. Altitude effects, the Colorado game in the snow, fun trip? Oregon's transition from mids to attack was missing, so offense didn't play with its usual creativity and quick strike, but always started from a set, and there was a marked drop off in offensive movement and cutting. Ground balls - the past coach from CSU was on the sidelines and observed and commented before the game that Oregon must play on turf, and it showed. CSU's goalie had a great game, and CSU's defense helped reduce the number and quality of shots that Oregon usually gets. Oregon's goalie also had a good game, especially given the defensive scrambling in front of him. Oregon showed good depth at defense. This was a good game for Oregon at this point in the season, and no doubt Tiller will build on this.
