Have you ever had to cancel a doctor's appointment?

Come on, now. That is not even remotely similar. What if the team that you cancelled on lost a chance at the National Tourney because that OOC game was one of the mandatory games that they needed to qualify? What would be your answer then? Choosing to cancel a road trip because of a failure to properly plan the financing is just not an excuse.

The bottom line is that for the good of all conferences and the league in general, game cancellations should not be tolerated. End of story....again, IMO. This is not your summer beer league. THe MCLA aspires to be much more than that.

I agree with you in that we should protect the team that get's cancelled on, ie the team that cancels loses that game, thus the team that was cancelled on doesn't fall into jeporady of not making the tournament because of out of conference games.

My point with the docotor's appointment is that things happen and while we wish they didn't they still do.

My point was.....for those that don't get it...... that Colorado shouldn't even be talking about road games after cancelling a trip to Florida at the last minute.

Kind of like SB fans talking about "class" while having the most unruly and out of control home field in the country. Works both ways!

This is going to sound childish but, SO. This is what have you done for me this year not who and where did you play last year. Don't get me wrong I think that what they have done so far is impressive but come on not a single road game out of CA?

Let me clear this up to put an end to it. For the last 20 years, Chapman has had a deal with Arizona and ASU that we travel out there one year, and they come to us the next year. Last year, we played 8 out of 15 games away from Orange, including trips to Colorado, Oregon and Arizona. When it came to planning this year, both ASU and Arizona broke with long standing tradition and would not come to play us. We tried to set up a game with Oregon, and we were planning on traveling up there. Unfortunately, after scheduling with them and OSU, Oregon had to pull out due to the start of their finals week. We were also looking to go to Boston, but then Northeastern called, and they were coming to us. We were going to go to Washington to play them and Florida, but Florida ended up coming to California instead.

Did we want to travel this year, of course we did. We did not cancel any road trips with teams out of state. But the cards fell where they did, and teams simply came to us, mostly without us even asking. We are hoping to travel next year to again play top competition, as long as they agree to play us. It is not always as easy as asking politely.

I will concur that Chapman was more than willing to return to Washington for our HIT (although I know nothing about Florida planning a trip up here) but that our school restricted the times we could get Dempsey Indoor this year, and we could only have one game per day. There simply wasn't the option to add any more teams to our event besides SFU and 'Noma in '08. We also owe Chapman a game, as they came up here two years ago. We tried to return the favor last season, but the Panthers were already scheduled the week we were committed to coming down to L.A. to play LMU, so we added a game against UCLA instead on that trip.

We also owe Rhode Island TWO games back east, technically, as they have flown to Seattle for our indoor tourney twice. But until The Rams can guarantee an indoor game in R.I., or perhaps swear on their mother's lives we wont get snowed out in February or March we will find it hard to commit to that trip LOL. Seriously, I'd like to return visits to every single team that has come here to Seattle first to play the Huskies. That would mean future trips to R.I, Colorado State, Utah, Cal-Poly, Minnesota-Duluth and Texas Tech. Have I missed anyone?
