Where do you feel BC stands in the MDIA. The team runs four deep middie lines, has two All-America attackmen in Brian Kinsella and Matt McConaty, an All-America faceoff specialist and a freshman goaltender who was All-State in California.
Although the talent of the teams wasn't top-notch on a recent trip (Stanford, UC-Davis, Cal and Chico), they dominated every game. Can BC crack the top 7 by the end of the season?
Keep in mind that on the recent trip to Cali. BC practiced just three times (all in a gym), while the Cali teams have been playing all winter- plus they won games by good margins in four straight days.
Where does Boston College rank in your mind?

it doesn't matter how many all-americans you have. if you think that is how a teams ranking is based on than you are mistaken. also, it doesn't matter how many practices you have had either. it matters about schedule.
until bc proves that they can play and play well, not with the schedule they have now, i mean at nationals, then they will be ranked around the 15-18 slots. right along with lindenwood.

I agree that the number of practices a team has had shouldn't matter for the rankings, but it does say something to me if a team is able to win after so little practice time. It tells me that they have a good amount of talent and that they can be even better if given more opportunity to play together.
Last year we played them in their first or second game of the season (after they had only a few practices) and took them to a 2 goal, 12-14 game while they were ranked #16 I believe. We played well, but they were a more talented group of players that year. I guess my point is that they should be given some credit for being able to win with such a disadvantage of not having even close to the practice time that many other USLIA and WCLL teams have had.

alumnilax,
BC is already ranked 11th in the pole. how are they going to drop to 15-18? even though BSC and NU have started out strong, you have to guess that it'll be UNH and BC fighting for 1st in the pcll. but i definitely wouldn't be surprised if either BSC or NU was up there, too. even if BC had 2 league losses, they're still gonna be ranked pretty high. and i've heard all the hype about wcll 4th or 5th ranked teams being better than the pcll's 1 or 2; guess that theory's proving to be pretty inaccurate. BC went undefeated out west, both NU and BSC handled Santa Clara pretty easily; and i think Santa Clara was 2nd or something in their division. and we'll see what BSC does to Cal tonight. i'm predicting domination by BSC. pcll is on the rise and no one outside of the norhteast will give them any credit until the pcll starts winning some OOC games, and thats starting to happen.

Highly unlikely. If BC has 2 league losses, they would come against unranked teams. If that was the case, BC would drop like a stone out of the Top 15. Impossible for 2 losses to unranked teams to not affect your rankings.

i was assuming that 1 of those 2 losses would be to UNH, a ranked team. and if BSC and NU keep winning, they might crack the top 25.

Dude, are you kidding me. a team's ranking should be based on wins and the quality of the wins. My point was that with that depth, combined with consecutive wins especially on limited practice time against teams who have been playing on fields for some time now, is impressive. Certainly All-Americans don't equal wins, that would be nuts to go by.
Also, BC would drop with losses, but nowhere near #20 or worse.
The PCLL is going to be exciting this year. I don't know if UNH will be as strong as last year, but if they are- no surprises. Expect NU to impress and the rest of the teams as well. Should be fun.
