I wouldn't say either necessarily, though there is some talent in the conference no doubt... just a lot of evenly matched teams that all compete hard. There already have been and should be a lot more exciting conference matchups in the PNCLL-2 this year.
I'm not going to offer a suggestion as to what this means to pollsters, but whoever represents the conference in Texas will have gone through some pretty serious battling to earn that bid.

I think that the teams will need to win their OOC games to prove to the pollsters that they all deserve to be in the top 25. its one thing to beat each other but the voters need a reference point as to see who is better than who and who if any should be in the top 25. Just how i see it.

CWU shows no OOC games... is this true?
WWU shows Montana St (potential big game for both teams) and Wyoming
WOU shows Pepperdine (another helpful game with a top 25 team) UC Irvine and Fullerton
UPS shows no OOC games
Whitman shows no OOC games
PLU shows no more OOC games
This is all according to MCLA.us. Im not sure the rules of the PNCLL but in CCLA we are required 2 OOC games. Just curious as to why these teams have none if they are competing for National Championship run?

I agree wholeheartedly. I'm glad WWU worked hard at the last minute and was able to add Montana State and Wyoming - although I wish they had made arrangements at Nationals to meet a perennial powerhouse somewhere in 2008. And UPS knew they were going to be very good this year - I wish they had decided to get 2 OOC games as well. I think when the dust settles we'll find them near the top-10- with winning the PNCLL their only route to Texas. Whitman usually opts not to play any OOC games . . .and PLU lost 7 starters to graduation after last season, and they'll be battling hard just to get into the PNCLL playoffs in 2008 - hopefully by then some of their freshman will be able to contribute so they can make a a run.
I have no more answers for you GVLax. . .that's the best I can do. As pollsters, really the WOU games in SoCal and the WWU vs. Mont. State are going to be the games by which the entire PNCLL is measured.

We simply didn't get the games scheduled we wanted to & weren't willing to travel outside of the weekends we had open. We've got a few ideas for next year, but we'll see again. The PNCLL D2 is playing 9 conference games this year (which I'll guess is the largest required of any D2 conference) & we didn't start school until the end of January. We decided to take the stance that if we're not the best team in the PNCLL, we'll accept not going to Dallas. The poll would only help us in seeding & maybe some personal pride until then.
I'll admit, I was/am a little upset we weren't ranked above SOU in the last poll... I'm still confused as to how that works in other voter's eyes, but I chose not to vote this year, so I guess I'll have to deal with it. I see 6 or 7 PNCLL D2 teams that are truly competing for the title & AQ. From what I saw of Whitman today, they could have competed & beat 80% of the teams that were in Dallas both this year & last. They just beat PLU (pre-season ranked #20ish, now #26) 20-12 Saturday... I think a lot of us are in that boat, but we're not at the level of SJU, UST, or Westminster (for example). There's a clear difference between the very best teams in D2 & the next tier, although any given day anything can happen. We'll keep playing our games, trying to improve to get ready for the playoffs. Like Kevin said, we'll face plenty of competition before we could take a trip to Dallas (WWU, CWU, WOU, SOU, Whitman), hopefully we'll keep winning, stay healthy, & be ready for the teams that come our way. If I could go back in time & schedule us for 1/2 the conference games & play some OOC, I would, but it's a little late now. Voters will have to decipher the information they have to place PNCLL teams.
As far as other team's OOC games, I can't really comment on their situations, but I'll guess some were not aware of exactly what their teams would look like as they're growing. CWU for example has been steadily improving since joining the PNCLL, & talent continues to come in the front door. It looks like they may have got more talent than they expected & didn't realize they'd be competing at this sort of level in '08. I hope that helps in some way. If you're a voter & have questions about teams, PM me, I'll try to help as best I can. Please realize my opinion is biased, but I will try to help.

SOU still has an OOC game left w/ San Jose St. and another w/ Humboldt St. which isn't an MCLA team but is scheduled to play many MCLA teams this year.
Kyle, just so you know, I did vote you guys ahead of us in the last poll...you beat us!
I think it is great to have such a competitive league w/o a clear cut favorite, it just makes each game that more meaningful and exciting.
Anyone know the score from the NAU vs. UNC game this w/e?

as Kyle noted, I'm also available to poll voters by PM who are curious about the PNCLL-2 this year... I think I've seen just about as many Division 2 teams as anybody and don't think I'll be too biased this year about our conference.
