Hillary Weeps

With all due respect Ben, I couldn't disagree more.
If she gets all teary eyed on purpose for political gain, it's very telling about her character and her ability to do the job.
If she gets teary eyed as a natural reaction to a "pressure" situation, it's very telling about her character and her ability to do the job. How will she react when she faces true "pressure" situations while the POTUS at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave?
Bonus question - If a male presidential did the same thing, how would you feel about his leadership potential as the POTUS?

I was waiting for someone to say this. No offense fella's, but you guys obviously don't know much about the candidates or past presidential politics. Bush has cried on numerous occasions, while in office. Is he no longer fit to do his job? Mitt has cried 3 times during this campaign....2 times while completely lying....he marched with King. McCain and Edwards both when talking about past experiences. Huck when being passionate about his weight lose and selection by GOD. We could go on and on here. Everyone except Thompson, but he's a lizard from another planet. Give me a break!!
Ben has hit the nail on the head here in many ways. What was she saying prior to and post.......was it a melt down? Was it calculated? Only a few or only one person will ever know. She's tired and showed 8 seconds of emotion. Hey, but that liberal media is at it again.

She was asked a puff question in public with the cameras rolling by a supporter and she broke down. This wasn't a funeral or 9/11. This wasn't a private event.
How is she going to deal with the Saudis or Ahmadinejad if she is elected in November?

Sonny, I get what you're trying to convey. However the examples I provided were in public! Is she any less fit then they are for crying?
Whether she is capable or not is a joke. She's more than capable to sit at that table. The real question is who would they rather be dealing with? Not a woman, and not one in charge of the most powerful country.
I hear a lot of people saying they don't like her. Why? Offer something tangible? She's a swindling murder so far. At least Jolly offered something up. It was from the right wing fringe, but he made a case.

If Hilary's crying was politically motivated than shame on her. Not only is it insincere, but makes me wonder how many lies she would be telling to everyone (domestic and foreign) when she gets in office.
If her tears were heartfelt (I believe they were), as she stated because of the vested interested then saying she can't lead is preposterous.
My reason is this, crying is a reaction to some sort of human emotion, for instance death, or the loss of something important (in this case the White House slipping away). By doing this, we open the door to the slippery slope that any sort of human reaction may make someone unfit to lead. Look at Bob Knight, he lead many a season at Indiana with a lot of anger. Is he unfit to lead because he is angry? His resume says he is not.
I would feel fine with it. The first person I would site that was successful in leading a group of individuals to unite and achieve a goal would be Dick Vermeil. He cried on a fairly regular basis and did quite a fine job leading his teams.
Just to note, I am arguing the virtue of ANY candidate crying and making a decision on their ability to lead or not. I am not a Clinton supporter, and in fact dislike much about her (she was last on that voting test we all took
). I think it speaks volumes I would be willing to defend her in this situation.
Ah, just my two cents, and I would guess, probably only worth a fraction of such....
On a side note, I am excited to get some popcorn and watch the boards as we see our staunch conservatives and staunch liberals go head to head as the election gets closer. Should be interesting. Are we going to have a mini-vote here just before election day on who collegelax.us boards would elect

In my opinion the tears were a calculated move. It does appear to be getting her a few votes. I think in the general election it will hurt her. She came off as weak and vulnerable to me. As someone who has spent too much time home sick with bronchitis, I watched the media talk about how she is coming off too masculine to female voters. This was turning her base to Obama.
I am really hoping these meds kick in soon.

This is no different than the Howard Dean scream in '04. Calculated or not, what does it matter? She got her feelings across and if she welled up, so what? What if the question was planted? Who cares? She effectively got her message out and must have done such a good enough job that it is being discussed on these boards.
At least she did not invoke 9/11 (Guiliani) or declare Mission Accomplished (Bush) or that the insurgency is in its last throes (Cheney). Or better yet, she didn't announce that when she gets into office, she will continue Bush's plans to put a man on Mars.

The Islamic world treats women the same as men. Lots of respect and hugs and kisses and cupcakes and cinnamon and sprinkles.

OK since apparently people are not allowed to dislike a candidate based on the way the look act and talk, here's my reasoning for not liking Hilary.
She supports abortion. Did not support the troop surge, yet voted for the use of military force in Iraq years ago. Opposes same-sex marriage but supports civil unions (contradictory). Is against a person privatizing their social security benefits.
She does have a few positives though. 1) I don't think she'd back down from anything...unless that whole crying business is common. 2) If anyone is going to push for some human/equal rights in the middle east region (Islamic world), it's her.

I was not a fan of Hilary before the debates, but after them, I saw a pompous arrogant woman who i don't see a leader in.
Too many times did she say, "When" instead of "if" i'm elected president.

So someone brings up a few uglies about a Dem after all eviceration of the current and potential Rep, and he gets this?
This is a small example of the polarizing behavior that's running our country into the crapper. LF25 presented productive counterpoints but lost credibility with that shot.
JR failed to bring up a question that bugs me. What connection does HC have with New York? Was it her childhood home? No. Did she live there during college or law school? No. Did she live there after getting married? No.
Why didn't she run for office in her home state of Arkansas where she lived for nearly 20 years and could have worked for the good of the people that elected her husband to high office? Oh yeah, 21 electoral votes vs 6. Hmmmm....makes me wonder whether her motives to serve in the senate were fair to the people of NY.
Opinions?
That's a commontactic to show confidence and subliminally encourage voters to "go with the winner" I don't think she's the only one to use that phraseology.
