Who is the Best in the NFC/AFC?

So with the weekends games we saw some interesting matchups played out. NE over Indy, Green Bay over KC, Dallas over Philly and Pittsburgh over Baltimore.

Many will point to the NE win over Indy as the reason that they are the better team, but others would say other wise.

NFC
1a. Dallas Cowboys - a very convincing win in a place that is historically difficult to play. We will see how good the Boys are in the next few weeks with games at NY and home against Washington. Still have Detroit and GBay.
1b. Green Bay - Put them 1b because they have played a similar schedule and played very well and look like they might have found a running game as well.
3. New York Giants - Possibly the best Pass Rush in the league, their game against Dallas this week will be the test for both teams and will pretty much determine who will win the Division
4. New Orleans - only 4-4 at this point, but the offense looks like it did last year, amazing.
5. Detroit - the offense looks very balanced with Kevin Jones finally healthy and with the passing game doing what it does

AFC
1. New England
2. Indianapolis - only because they lost, but i would put them right behind New England, and as we saw the difference is not very much - Could Marvin harrison have been the difference, we will see come playoff time.
3. Pittsburgh - Big Ben looks like he is back to his old self and the defense was awesome last night
4. Tennessee
5. Cleveland - Really starting to look strong

Good points, I don't really disagree too much but here's what I got:

NFC
5. Detroit - You have to give these guys credit for winning so far, their schedule is brutal rest of the way, they will prove if they are good enough.
4. New York G-men - Not convinced yet, but this team could jump to the top if Eli makes plays.
3. New Orleans - Stretch here, especially over Tampa Bay, but I think this team is clicking and will be a steamroller here on out.
T-1b. Green Bay - I'm not buying Favre's rhetoric of "I don't know how we're doing it!" this team is good, solid on D, playmakers on O, who needs a RB?
T-1a. Dallas - They get the very slight nod because their only loss is to the Behemoth of Beantown, Romo could go on a bender with Britney and bring this team down though.

Notable Absence: Seattle - I'm a west coast guy and want my teams to compete, but Shaun Alexander looks like an 80-year-old minus the walker and IV bag out there right now, he is T-E-R-R-I-B-L-E. Window is quickly closing for an aging team.

AFC (the real conference)
5. Pittsburgh - Just cause you stole a Super Bowl doesn't make you a contender...and same with beating up on a HORRENDOUS Ravens team that is already preparing for Hawaii in February.
4. Cleveland - Pittsburgh beat this team with Charlie Frye at QB, CHARLIE FRYE HAHAHAHA, I can't wait to see them play this team now.
3. Tennessee - Reports of the Titans' demise have been greatly exaggerated.
2. Indianapolis - Reports of the Colts' possible defeat of the Patriots were greatly exaggerated. Did you really think they would win? I don't give two craps they lost by 4 in the 4th quarter, it was just a matter of time.
THE ONLY 1 - New England - Polish that trophy and send it to the Hoodie now, the only formality is will it say 19-0?

Notable Absence: San Diego - People who drafted LT with the #1 overall pick (that would be me included) have already made a cut out of Norv Turner's head and placed it on the dart board. How can you make the #1 overall player in sports an average running back? Hire Norv Turner.

We just got the 48 hour tape delay of the Vikes game here. Adrian Peterson looked amazing in that game against San Diego. As it is pretty tough for me to watch many NFL games here. Is San Diego's Defense that horrid this year? Or was AP just on his game? 1036 yards in 8 games, that is just insane for a rookie or any other back for that matter.

I think that Dallas might be the best NFC team, but that Green Bay or Detroit might have a chance to win the NFC title. I also believe that the AFC powers are so much stronger that the AFC title game will surely decide the eventual Super Bowl winner. Whoever wins the AFC title will win the Super Bowl, and in a blowout.

Indy is def. #1! They were missing 5 starters. Two starting linebackers that are studs, but that doesn't even matter b/c the guys behind them are pretty good. The 3 missing offensive starters are the key. Marvin Harrison is a big deal. Harrison catches almost everything thrown to him, unlike moorehead and fletcher. anthony gonzalez has not been a huge factor yet, but when harrison is out it's also a big deal. That is why both fletcher and moorehead were playing. They don't get open as often and each had dropped passes. The biggest problem: Ugoh (LT) being out. the back-up is horrible...makes the whole left side suspect. I'm surprised that guy is in the league; he is that bad. You take a healthy COLTS team and PATS team, and I think the COLTS win hands down. The colts have a better defense, and thats the difference.

I think its really dangerous for the Cowboys going into the playoffs. they'll have to play every team that is playoff bound for the NFC in the regular season, including the Giants, Packers, Lions, Carolina, Redskins, etc. except for the Saints. Then the Boys will have to beat them again in the playoffs. That may turn into 3 times in a season depending on if they play the Giants/Redskins there.

It was one of the worst games they have played this season and they still won. They finally started playing like they have all season in the 4th quarter and completely picked apart Indy's defense. Agreed.....It's scary how they can turn it on when they need to. The Colts have a chance if they play perfect and New England is having an off day.

Right now the way things look the NFC doesn't have a shot. However, it's pro sports and anything can happen. I would have to agree with Dan that the winner of the AFC championship will be Super Bowl champs.

For the NFC
-Dallas and Green Bay at the top but they play each other on the 29th of November in the Big D, so we will see what TO and Romo can do against the GB defense. GB needs to find a steady running game and hopefully Ryan Grant can continue to run well.
-Detroit looks good, but they throw the ball a lot and need to establish a running game if they want to continue playing well.
-The Giants are on a roll, but can Eli get them far in the playoffs? I have yet to see him be able to lead his team, but he has a solid defense and also has a good group of receiving core.
-Saints are on a 4 game win streak and have too much talent to be at 4-4. They will pick their game up and win the NFC South over Tampa, even though Garcia is playing well down there and he has a great player in Joey Galloway to throw to.
