ALEX RODRIGUEZ!!!!

So I thought I'd open up the discussion on this as the points on all sides greatly intrigue me.

So, do you like A-Rod? Do you want him on your team? What are your impressions or opinions of this very unique athlete?

He has the power to polarize millions about the game both in terms of his play on the field and his salary off of it. I personally feel like he is a very misunderstood athlete, he is not a bad person yet his skills (some of the best in the history of sports, not just baseball) command that he receive money that no human can identify with outside of the Sultan of Brunei. I think his personal emotions and attitudes play very little into whether people actually like him or not. Most have already made up there mind, all too often to hate instead of to respect. I for one can't wait to see what team he goes to and the crazy numbers he will continue to put up, all while playing an amazing 3rd base. I'd want him on my team (the Braves) in a heart beat even if it meant giving up an icon like Chipper, even though that will never happen.

I am curious and excited to hear what the rest of you think! Have at him!

In 147 postseason at bats, ARod is batting .279 with 7 HRs and 17 RBI. He has yet to play in the World Series.

I think I'll stick with the reigning World Series MVP, Mike Lowell.

Word on the street is Sweet Lou has been calling.

Or at least I hope so, I'd love him on my Cubbies.

I like A-Rod...he is the most scrutinized player on the planet beside Lebron....

The media in New York expected him to hit a homerun everytime he swung the bat...and keep in mind, they didnt sign that contract with him, they traded for it....and when the media continues to rip him for making so much, but failing in the clutch....they should rip good Ol' George a bit more for bringing him in and then it "not working out"....

He's a good guy...he's not an jerk like Schilling, or a jerk like Bonds....

But people hate you when your good, and most importantly...they hate you when you play for the Yankees.....

I hope he ends up in Cleveland....but Ive got a better chance of Kenny Loften actually running through that stop sign at third to tie the game - and us making it to the world series and sweeping the rockies....**sigh**

On that note, there is NO WAY Lowell was the MVP, it was Jacoby Ellsbury 100%, he made that team go in the Series, not Lowell, how ridiculous, I guess you can't delegitimize the World Champs by making a rookie the MVP, so silly.

Jayson Stark on ESPN Radio had it at better than 50/50 that Lowell will not be back with the Sox next year. Hopefully he's in LA with Torre.

Full disclosure here...I'm a Yankee fan.

ARod is a supremely talented player, maybe the most talented of his generation. From what I've read, he seems like a decent guy as well.

Not everyone is cut out to play in NY. The media and fan attention is crushing. It takes a different kind of personality to play there. At the end of the day, everything is about what you do in the clutch and especially in the playoffs. This is the same reason that no one is really harping on Jeter for hitting 0.176 in the playoffs. The guy has produced in the clutch in the past, and that's what NY fans will remember.

I think that most Yankee fans feel that Alex Rodriguez = Dave Winfield...Mr. May.

I'd hate to lose a guy with the kind of talent he has. He had an MVP season...But I don't think he's a guy who performs as well under pressure.

I'm a fan of 2 of the most hated franchises in the world...the NY Yankees and Real Madrid.

I would take Aramis Ramirez' production at half the price of A-Rod and use the other money on pitching.

Could happen but when you are depending on Jason Marquis and Steve Trachsel as your #3 & #4 starters down the stretch and Ryan Dempster is still the closer, you need pitching help.

Would I be against A-Rod on the Cubs, no. But I think they need to address their pitching before they go after some more bats. Especially ones that cost 25-30 million a year.

A-Rod will be on the Dodgers next year. Make bank on that.

The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim in the state of California within the United States would also be my top choice if I had to guess where he will end up.
