Wheaton College is proud to announce it will be hosting the second annual Holy War Invitational on Friday, March 28th and Saturday, March 29th, 2008. Teams will have two games against OOC opponents. Games will begin on Friday afternoon and will also be played all day on Saturday.
Wheaton is located near both Chicago's O'Hare and Midway airports. Wheaton is also located near over twenty reasonably priced hotel options.
Wheaton is home to two new field-turf surfaces that are painted with lacrosse lines for the spring. Both fields have lights and stadium seating. Please feel free to look at the fields here:

Teams from all conferences are invited to apply, and admission will be determined by the tourament's board of directors. It should be noted that schools involved must have a Christian affiliation.
Please contact Austin Lee as soon as possible if your team has interest in being involved in the Invitational in 2008.

Christian D2 Teams Wanted
The 1st annual Holy War was held in Grand Rapids with 4 teams from 4 conferences (CCLA, GRLC, UMLL, PNCLL) and as Austin presented we are looking to expand it this year to 8 teams. We are also looking to expand the number of conferences represented.
We chose to move the invitational to Chicago in part because of Wheaton's great facilities (that can be played on in all but the worst weather) and due to its central location and the ease of long distance travel.
It is our goal to grow this into an event that can move around the nation and expose our players to new places and share the responsiblity & honor of hosting it. If your team is interested in playing this year and eventually hosting, let Austin or I know.
In addition to games on these two ideal fields, plans are in the works for social activities during Friday and Saturday evenings.
We have the sufficient number of teams making plans for 2008, so the tournament is a go, but if we could diversify more, it would meet our goal of making this a nationwide OOC draw.
In case you're wondering, the idea for this invitational came from a number of the inaugural coaches participating in a tournament hosted by Messiah College back in their club days of the early 1990s.

Away from the railroad next to the fields it is an amazing facility. Everyone associated with Wheaton made my experiences there among the best that I have had. I had to laugh at the guys that carried the couch to the fields. They were great. It should be a very good tournament.

Just to reinforce... Wheaton is one of the best hosts I have ever dealt with in my years in the MCLA (USLIA, USLMDIA). This should be a great tournament.

Originally we were shooting for 8 teams total, as of yesterday we were at 5 looking to even it up at 6. Last night I got a call from a top southern team that is considering making the trip and will get back to us early next week. There is a nearby new entry into the league, that is turning heads in the GRLC this fall, that might help round out the count. If UST and these other two teams all joined in we'd have a nice set of 8 teams to create competitive match-ups. Right now we have Grove City(CCLA), Calvin (CCLA), Hope (CCLA), Wheaton (GRLC), and Dordt(GRLC).
If other teams are interested, speak up soon.
