Schiano should do something about that.

i know at Florida, urban meyer has a very strong influence over the fans, as well as his players, and i'm sure the same goes for other schools with big time coaches (oklahoma, texas, georgia, etc.)

At the very least, you'd think the Rutgers students would have some appreciation for the effort the undersize Navy players put out. They aren't like the players from Louisville or West Virginia or some of the other ranked powerhouses Rutgers now finds itself among.

Appreciation? Pity? barf.

and like it has been said many times on this board, i don't agree with profanity in the stands...cutting wit but not profanity.

And i do think it is weak for anyone to pull the "Navy defends the country don't heckle them" at a football game.

you aren't defending the country today, you are trying to ruin my school's football season.

Notre Dame and Michigan....man I wish there could be ties.

Arkansas @ Alabama should be interesting.

I hope Ohio State and Washington is a good game.

USC and Nebraska may be a blowout.

BC and GT should be a good game.

Tennessee @ UF will finally have UF against a team that (may) have a winning record this year.

At the two different schools I've worked at, there's a sportsmanship announcement read before every game which states spectators can be ejected for vulgar, racial, or sexist remarks. Whether or not Rutgers did this, I have no clue. But it at least gives fans a warning.

Frogs lose. I am getting the feeling that this is a rebuilding year with the RS-Freshman QB, but there is a lot of football to be played. I think the BCS party is now officially safe.

I figured I'd take my stab at upsts:

Colorado over Florida State (FSU is struggling and the altitude won't help)

Wyoming over Boise State

Arkansas State over SMU

I'd also look to see the Louisville v Kentucky game to be much closer than people think, although I think Louisville will pull it out.

Finally, I'd love to see the Michigan v. Notre Dame game end with a 2-0 victory for either team. These have to be my two least favorite teams (in any year). I'd root for a 0-0 tie, but that's impossible. *sigh*

I just ran across this. Enjoy:

Bud Light presents Real Men of Genius
(Reeeeaaal Men of Genius)

Today we salute you, Mr. Delusional Michigan Fan
(Mr. Delusional Michigan Faaaaaan!)

Season after season, year after year, you try to justify your absurdly high preseason ranking
(clutching at straws!)

Season after season, year after year, you scramble to make futile attempts at damage control when the Wolverines lose to a grossly inferior opponent
(How'd Appalachian State score Thirty Fouuuuur?)

Inevitably, you'll bring up the past, boast of National Championships won 40 years before you were born
(those were the daaaaaays!)

You will point out that you have more wins than any other program as though that is relevant to the current season
(been playing since the 1870's)

Go on, ignore that loss to Ohio State in the regular season finale and continue to believe that you'll defeat your bowl opponent with striking ease
(we'll win by thirteeeeeey!)

So crack open an ice cold Bud Light, oh Emperor of Excuses, and take comfort knowing that when you finish ranked number twenty, you'll be back to number five when the preseason polls come out next year …..
(Mr. Delusional Michigan Faaaaaaan!)

Or how about the age old:

What is the difference between Michigan (Or fill in your least favorite team) and Cheerios?

Cheerios belong in a bowl......

Congrats to Iowa State and Mississippi State (so far) in upsets this week....

This just in: the Gophers suck this year. (Okay, maybe it's not just this year.) Maybe they should drop down to IAA. Oh, App State is IAA? Is there a IAAA?

Do you think Michigan would have been happy if you told them before the season started that they'd beat Notre Dame 38-0? :D

Could we change the Michigan song to the Gophers? The Gopher football team is one of those things that cannot be fixed. The fans need to be happy with a bowl game and maybe a win in that bowl. The Gophers in general have a strong athletic program, but the football team is weak in what usually is a very strong conference.

said Thomas' attorney, Carl Hughes. "He was wearing a pair of white shorts, which made it that much worse."

That will make him think twice about wearing white after labor day.

Well, nobody really expects the Gophers to have a good season, and they sure aren't ever ranked #5 in the preseason.

My New Top Ten:
1: USC- they proved it
2: LSU- with the backup QB
3: Florida- Tebow is answering the critics
4: Oklahoma- might get a game from Texas
5: Penn State- can anyone from the Big 10 beat them
6: WV- gotta love the running game
7: Texas- winning helps, but we need to see some more substance
8: Ohio State- beat a good Washington team
9: Wisconsin- Almost pulled a Michigan with the Citadel
10: Cal- not even the band could stop these guys

Bottom 5:
1: Notre Dame- hey O it is called a TD
2: Oklahoma St.- Losing to Troy automatically puts you here
3: Northwestern- you lost to Duke
4: SMU- what was that about a bowl game this year?
5: Minnesota- starting to have problems finding new ways to lose

Upset Rules:
The team losing has to be good, otherwise you should beat them.
SMU cannot be considered an upset, unless you are a Jr. High.
If you are in BCS Qualifying conference you cannot upset a non-BCS qualifying opponent.
If both schools suck, then just be thankful you found someone who is worse than you.
Feel free to add to the list.
