In the end all that really matters is that he has never won a ring and he also provided a great service to fans by being the complete antithesis of great players like Cal Ripken and Tony Gwynn.

Amen to that!

Found this really interesting

The Evolution of Barry Bonds

I love the 1999 & 2000 picture.

(hypothetically)

Someone could go out right now, take particular types of HGH and the necessary side-items and voila...innocent. Not to mention that "random testing" is not by any means random. When did these """random"""(sic) drug tests start? 2004? 2005? If Barry woulda juiced up in the 2000-2001 seasons....then gotten hurt and while I was out injured I would have juiced again...he could have beaten the system. Since so many players are roiding it up...I highly question MLB's testing processes. If everyone gets an "A" in spelling class and spells like GobblerLax...then obviously there's a flaw in the system. Maybe they should drug test every player, every month randomly...and one fail = you're done.

So McGwire may have been treated differently..that doesn't mean it's ok. McGwire was a media darling...no doubt about that. Most likely because he wasn't an ass-hat like Barroid is every time the camera was on him. Barry and his fans needn't complain about negative treatment by the media 'till Barry decides to stop being such a d-bag.

McGwire's treatment, Sosa's treatments, Giambi's, A-rod's....the price of tea...doesn't mean that Barry is off the hook.

Obviously the testing processes are less than desireable, but if he stopped "juicing" when the testing was initiated does that break the rules. Not a fan of Barry by any means, but they were not illegal until 2 or 3 years ago, and people were getting caught. While I hate the idea of Bonds being the all-time homerun leader drives me crazy, but It doesn't appear that any rules have been broken at this point. Illegal to the united states, but not a banned substance by baseball until 2003 or 2004. Anywho.

AROD will break the record in about 4 or 5 years (at his current pace of 45-50 home runs a year.

I see what you're saying, I was commenting on illegal in general whether it be by baseball or "real-world" standards.

I agree, A-Rod is doing some major hitting.
