I thought it would be fun to talk about what some people thought was their favorite game (that they watched or played/coached in)....what teams they thought were the biggest surprise or disappointment.... best individual performances, etc.
I was happy to see teams play more OOC competition this year. We have already started looking for OOC games for next Spring.
My favorite game to coach this year was against SMU. Down by 1 with, I believe, a minute and a half left. Unfortunately we lost that game, but it was a great game right down to the wire. I also enjoyed the TCU game for the simple fact it was my first game back on the sidelines in a regular season game. I also feel that FINALLY beating a tough Texas Tech team was a big deal for me. From what I understand, Baylor hadn't beaten Tech since 1993.
I saw many great players this year, but Webb from Southwestern impressed me. He is very tough to stop, but Preston did a good job in that game to minimize the damage.

It was a good year looking back, congrats to all on a great season
I was really impressed with A&M from watchin stats and scores...seeing them beat colorado was great, and good for the LSA too, best of luck to them at nationals.
I'm also very disappointed with OSU. It's a shame to see a team fold due to internal reasons, as well as our in-state bedlam rivals. I really hope they can get their act together and be back and able to compete next season

I'd have to say one of the best games i saw this year was the Texas/Colorado game. Though UT came up short in the end, it was a back and forth battle and really showed that the LSA can compete with the best of them (this coupled w/ A&M's defeat of colorado). But also thought there were some other games that really were well played. LSA Championships were memorable

The LSA championship game....
A&M coming out on top after UTs comeback. Real good display of offense.
A&M showed their depth, and that anyone they put on the field can score.

The Tech/UNT game had to be a good one to watch. It really came down to the last minute and both teams poured their hearts into it. Despite losing, it was a great game to play in.
OU ... you guys are rediculous. 20K from the ol' president of the school, a stadium, and Nike at your backs ... Great work fellas! It's great to see a new program really taking hold and succeeding.
A&M and UT both had great seasons, with rather forceful in-conference play and noteable work out-of-conference.
Both Baylor and SMU really stepped it up this year as well.

My favorite was the UNT/Baylor game because it was a dog fight to see who gets the third spot for the playoffs. There was alot of goals scored in that game by both teams and I was impress with Baylor's improvement this year. The game went back in forth with goals scored left and right until Jeff Luke scored late in the 4th quarter to help us secure a spot in the playoffs.

I personally loved seeing such good competition up in the North division. It is great for the sport. I think the UNT game gave me an ulcer, lol. If you guys up in Oklahoma continue to build on the core you had this year, it will not take you long to catch up with the other programs in the North.

My thoughts on the LSA season.
First, I am going to say this short and sweet. I'd love to see the eligibility issue worked out for all of the LSA teams because it would have been nice to have a LSA Div. B championship on the field. Props to the Aggies for winning the title, but that also goes to the other 3 teams- UT, UNT and TSU. I am just disappointed that SU didn't get to the Nationals, yet I'm glad the Bucs finally got the national recognition and was ranked at #12 which is their highest ranking ever.
Second, I agree with others that Baylor and SMU really stepped it up and hope they will be consistent to contend for the title next year. I am sure Tech will be back.
My favorite game? I'd say the SMU-Baylor game as I was there. Both teams were really in the groove that day. Awesome D by both teams. I was impressed with the Baylor-UNT game by learning about the final score, 19-17. 36 goals. I like a lot of offense!! That is even better than some high school scores that I have seen in Upstate New York this year, i.e. 6-5.
The LSA Championships at SMU was a blast. Outstanding semifinal games that I have seen. Karl, the SMU people, and others still deserve a round of applause for making it possible. I am not sure about the total fans coming out that weekend, but I was a little bit disappointed that there were not a lot of fans coming out that day I was there, but I reminded myself that there were several high school playoff games going on that weekend, too.
Finally, not related to this post, go Big Red!!

There are a couple things that I feel will help repair the way things went in Division B this year (which I was very disappointed about). First, appointing someone in the LSA to be the head of eligibility (to investigate claims and to make sure teams keep up with regulations). Second, Those teams that still exist in B need to be recruiting teams to join the conference. I am more than willing to help, but they should want as many teams in their division as possible to avoid such tragedies as those that occured this year. I found out recently that Mary Hardin Baylor in Belton has a lacrosse program. Sure they may not be organized or prepared just yet to compete in the LSA (they may be ready as well), but it would be worth the effort to find out and offer them advice and help they may need to prepare. That is just one team.....there is also SHSU, Nicholls State, etc.....just to name a couple. I am pumped up about this because I want to see these kids have the best college lacrosse experience possible (within the rules), but most of all I want to see this sport grow greatly withing the LSA boundries and beyond.

Classic Seagull! Not to make light of what is happening with OU's lacrosse team. Very impressive and I'm quite happy for the success they seem to be having in firmly establishing that program. But Seagull's comment was pretty good all things considered!

naw it's all right, could be one of the best things that happened to us getting Bomar out. I didn't like him too much anyway. I got a chance and met him once, he was a complete tool.
but man...if a car dealership wants to start giving us a ridiculous amount of money and free cars for working for them once a month...that'd be pretty nice especially b/c we dont have to worry about NCAA sanctions like our football team does.

Devil's advocate....
After all that has happened over the last few years (TCU in and out, Sam Houston State/UTSA/Centennary/Nichols State/Houston folding, Rice in and out) - Do you think that blindly adding more teams to the LSA is prudent?
Seems to me that you guys need to clean house FIRST, before considering future expansion.
