It is immpossible to have a completely fair and impartial Poll. Because the rankings are all people's opinions.

That shouldn't be though, "people's opinions". It was just stated that the pollsters are selected by Sonny and then approved by the executive board, so that should mean, which was also stated, that they have some expertise and knowledge of the game, reasoning ability, hopefully some basic mathematics, and plain ol' common sense. But under no circumstances should a poll be based on an opinion, league bias, etc. Afterall, you know what they say about opinions... And as Sgt. Friday used to always say, just the facts, ma'am.

By expertise and knowledge, I mean, actually having played the game and preferably at the college level. Someone who has only coached lacrosse might make a good pollster, but supremely, the pollsters should all be former players who have stayed with the game in some capacity. and contributed enormously to the game while they played. Another old saying that goes something like this, can't judge someone until you've walked a mile in his shoes.

The MDIA Top 25 poll is a combination of coaches and media as Sonny stated previously. What I want to establish is a fan poll similar to laxpower that is comprised of fans who are major contributors to the message board. The poll will in no way be used in the selection process for the MDIA National Championships. This Message Board / fan poll would be for entertainment purposes only. A portion of posters already list their version of the Top 20; I just want to take it a step further. That's it...nothing more.

First off- show me an unbiased poll that works and I will agree with you- otherwise you have a BCS debackle.

Anyways- we have to get excited about polls now... we have no placement untill we go off to tournaments in April. Sometimes its nice to have other people appreciate how well you are doing.

But we seem to all have our OPINIONS, so here is one more voice for a MDIA forum poll here.
