Hense the wilderness survival merit badge. In all seriousness, as a fellow scouter, I hope that everything turns out well. Unfortunately as such a young scout, he may not have some of the survival skills that an older scout would possess. And as I noticed in my troop while I was in it, the practical skills (tying knots, pitching a tent, starting fires) are becoming scarcer and scarcer in the younger ranks. I wish him and his family the best.
