I am skeptical about the possibliity of the football team letting him play for a club team.
At Michigan State, we have a football player who also plays basketball (an even bigger sport than football here). Tom Izzo has a hard time prying him away from the football team, even after the season is over... And that's for a major D-1 Basketball team.

....the chances are slim to nill, especially when the football coach will hang over his head that his scholarship would be out of the door if he suited up for Mizzo Lax in the Spring. Not to mention how tough it would be to balance playing for a program like Mizzou Lax and handling offseason/spring football duties.
It would still be worth a call for Coach Hawkins.

By the way Kyle its alright just leave him alone. I don't need you calling him.

But What If...
I agree that a marginal football player would never be allowed to play lacrosse. But what if a blue-chip prospect agreed to sign his NLI ONLY if the school allowed him to play lax in the spring? If they wanted him bad enough they'd agree and offer him a scholarship. He could always threaten to go to SoandSo State instead who will let him play both sports. There are programs that would allow it, or just about anything, to get the blue-chipper.

Yourmom,
I know the guy in the picture! I always wondered what happened to Linc from "Mod Squad." Apparently he took up lacrosse, attended school in up-state New York, and started hanging out with Michael Jackson's cosmetologist!
Thanks for the update.

I might be wrong but I don't think the NCAA would allow a football player to play a club sport. I may be wrong but I think there is a violation with the NCAA there somewhere.
That picture of the dude from the 70's is absolutely hilarious, he could be a lacrosse player in Napoleon Dynamite. He's probably about the coolest guy ever.

iowa state had a football on the squad in the mid 90s.

I don't think the Geneseo team would be looking like the one Glover just posted in this thread when they come down to Dallas to play Springfield next Wednesday.
