That only would apply if Crazy Ann ran for public office on the Republican ticket. By allowing Franken to run as a Dem (I'm assuming that's what he'll be running as), the Democratic Party is giving its explicit support to all of his rants. While some Republicans may agree with some of the things that Ann says, the Party would never sponsor her words.
