Which state has better HS lacrosse? I think Missouri is deeper, but Illinois has a couple real good programs like New Trier and Loyola.

Haven't seen much of Missouri high school lacrosse but I find Illinois to be very seperated. There is that group of 4-5 teams which are very good then it drops off a lot. The gap has been closed a lot since I first saw Illinois High School lacrosse.

Loyola and New Trier are always good then it seems like 3 to 4 teams rotate among being up there, Libertyville, Barrington, Glenbrook South (use to be good my freshmen year in college, 2000, and were good in that 1998-2002 time frame but I want to say they have dropped off).

One area I think could be good in like 10 years are the Naperville teams if they get some good coaching. They have a strong football base and it seems like high schools who have that do well after a while of building up. Plus they have a ton of kids who go to school in that area and its growing.

The Youth programs have also been continuely growing so I think Illinois will slowly close that gap between teams and make lacrosse better in the area.
