The News & Observer has posted a PDF copy of the most recent defense brief/memorandum in support. It is fascinating reading, but I will not post a link due to the very graphic descriptions it contains.
I'm very curious to see how the judge handles it...

60 Minutes: Duke Prosecutor's Expert Made "Big Error&qu
The forensic expert hired by the prosecutor in the Duke rape case says he made a "big error" in judgment by not stating in his report that the only DNA he found on the accuser was from several men who were not on the Duke lacrosse team.
Dr. Brian Meehan speaks to Lesley Stahl in his first interview about the controversial case on 60 MINUTES Sunday, Jan. 14 at 7pm on CBS.
Meehan acknowledged that he has never omitted potentially exculpatory evidence before.
"We haven’t done that before," he tells Stahl. "In retrospect, I should have done a better job of conveying that information."

Duke Prof. Quits Committees in Protest
DURHAM, N.C. — A Duke University professor resigned from her committee assignments, saying she was upset by the administration's decision to invite two lacrosse players accused of sexual assault back to campus.
"The decision by the university to readmit the students, especially just before a critical judicial decision on the case, is a clear use of corporate power, and a breach, I think, of ethical citizenship," Karla Holloway, an English professor and former dean of Humanities and Social Sciences, wrote to Duke's black faculty caucus.
"Despite our judgments about the prosecutor's own lack of principled conduct, it is not ours to become the judge or subvert the process," she wrote.

Expert Admits "Big Error" In Duke Case
Parents Of Accused Also Speak Out About Case
(CBS) The forensic expert hired by the prosecutor in the Duke rape case says he made a "big error" in judgment by not stating in his report that the only DNA he found on the accuser was from several men who were not on the Duke lacrosse team.
Dr. Brian Meehan speaks with 60 Minutes correspondent Lesley Stahl in his first interview about the controversial case this Sunday, Jan. 14, at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
Meehan acknowledged that he has never omitted potentially exculpatory evidence before. "We haven't done that before," he tells Stahl. "In retrospect, I should have done a better job of conveying that information."
Meehan has stated that he told the prosecutor, Durham County District Attorney Mike Nifong, about the other DNA for the first time in mid-April. Later that same month, Nifong indicted three Duke lacrosse players. Meehan has also said in court proceedings that he and Nifong agreed before the evidence tests were completed that his report should be limited to positive matches between the accuser and the players at the team party where she says she was sexually assaulted last March.

Check out the video from CBS on the right side
When asked what they would say to Nifong if he were in the room, Rae Evans, the mother of indicted player David Evans, says, "I would say with a smile on my face, 'Mr. Nifong, you've picked on the wrong families … and you will pay every day for the rest of your life.'"

Nifong has asked to be replaced on the case since he is under investigation for ethics violations:

The district attorney has asked the state attorney general to take over prosecution of the sexual offense and kidnapping case against three former Duke University lacrosse players, an official involved in the case said today.
Michael B. Nifong, the Durham district attorney, faxed the request to Jim Coman, head of the state attorney general’s special prosecution unit, today, the official said. Mr. Nifong decided he had no choice but to hand off the case because he faces a conflict of interest with ethics charges pending against him for his public comments on the case, the official said, speaking on condition of anonymity because there has yet to be an official announcement of the request.
