Ha! I was thinking the same thing...how old is he anyway, 21? I know there aren't a lot of girls in Boise but geesh.

I read one report where he stated that he was planning on asking her once they got to Boise (after the game), because he didn't want to ask her at the game if they lost. I don't think this is something that he just made up on the spot.
At least I hope not....

It is incredible the affect this kind of publicity has on a school. If there is any doubt about the affect of a win like this has, Read This

I also read that Ian had the ring still at his apartment or at his hotel room. He did say that he decided to go ahead and do it when his team won. What Rob said above is correct.

The greatest game I have ever seen.....and I was lucky enough to be at it.
The bad news, I had to leave when it was 28-20 Boise State to catch a plane to Miami. I was walking through the airport when I heard screaming from the bar, I ran in to see the game had gone to OT and about crapped my pants.

Wow Benson! You missed the absolute best part of the game - the final 8 minutes (or so) of regulation and the OT.
How did you get tickets? Was that game actually sold out?

I watched the re-air last night on FSN and just think it is great that Chris Myers had the decorum to give away the proposal before Ian Johnson even got on his nice. Yea, F-O-X!
I travel to Boise often and can attest to the talent that exists in the Gem State. Boise is not a backwater. I am on record as saying that Boise, ID is the only city in America that I would willing move to.

I was fortunate enough to work the Fiesta, Orange and Sugar Bowls (brutal travelling).
The Fiesta Bowl was sold out and 2/3 Boise State fans.

Yes its true, the Fiesta Bowl was probably one of the best bowl games to date... but how soon do we forget the heroics of the Insight Bowl and Texas Tech in the biggest bowl game comeback ever? It probably isn't getting as much attention because it wasn't a BCS game, and not as many people watched it, but if you saw what i saw...it was AMAZING.
Sure BSU's trick plays were incredible, and made for an extremely exciting game...but Tech was down by 31 half way through the 3rd quarter, and rallied to win 44-41 in OT. Now i was standing up cheering at the top of my lungs when BSU pulled that off...incredible; but to pull off a comeback like that, after getting your teeth knocked in and beaten up like that...
words can't express.

But it involved Glen Mason and Bryan Cupito so it wasn't that surprising.

Glen Mason is Minnesota's now ex-coach. He was the king of finding a way to lose games.
Bryan Cupito is Minnesota's QB who is one of the worst 3-year starters you will ever see in college football.
