The Alamo Drafthouse here in Austin is hosting a competition for spoofs of Snakes on a Plane. Each team that entered received a randomly generated animal on a randomly generated vehicle. The only rule was you had to have the line "mother f**** (blanks) on a mother f**** (blank)". Voting is up til August 10. You can check out the link here:

We entered with Turkeys on a Hummer. There are some pretty funny movies up there.

think how many people are gonna go watch this because all of this hype it has gotten on the interent and everything. I mean its going to be a horrible movie but i think i will see it since the title is Snakes on a Plane. Very simple. Im excited.

I have a funny feeling that this is actually going to be fairly high grossing, just cause everybody wants to see how stupid it is. Also, I expect this to become a great cult classic.

I think it has the potential to be the Tremors of our generation.

The type of movie they replay 3 times in a row on AMC between 11PM - 5 AM.

And yet I still watch it every time.

I prefer Tremors II: Aftershocks. Much better storyline. Giant man-eating worms in the ground just aren't believeable unless you have heatseeking-two-legged-claw-mouthed babies bursting out of their stomachs.

The commercials have started up now, and the storyline seems to make better sense. I didn't realize that someone put them on the plane to kill someone. But its still just slightly farfetched.

Sorry guys, I'm not throwing down 8 bucks to see a movie about a hit man who puts snakes on a plane to kill someone. "I have two options: #1- Drive by the man's house and shoot him, or #2- Put tons of snakes on an airplane and hope the snakes are ill-tempered enough to kill everyone, including the one person that I want dead. I'll take option #2!"

I did however see Talladega Nights this past weekend and it was hilarious. I'm amazed that NASCAR helped film this movie when it lampoons the NASCAR culture quite a bit. I'm sure some serious NASCAR fans will find the movie mildly insulting.

It is still publicity. I think more surprising is that the Special Olympics worked closely with Johnny Knoxville when he made The Ringer.

Saw a guy today at the mall that had a shirt that said:
"Keep the Snakes off the Mother @#$@#$ plane!" (real word and not symbols)

It was so good I gave him a nice comment.

I just got back from the movie.

The whole experience was awesome and fun.

The movie itself bounces from cheesy/serious to cheesy/funny and never goes too far in either direction. The movie was edited like it knows it was suppose to be stupid. I can easily compare this to Tremors. I was crying at one point from laughing so much.

Add in some gruesome death scenes to give it a little flavor and jump in your chair factor (if you really don't like snakes, you might not like some of the first death scenes).

Finally, the crowd I saw it with made the movie that much better. Everyone was cheering, clapping, screaming and made the whole experience even better. When Samuel L. Jackson went to say his famous line ("I have had it with these mo#@$#$@%therf%^^ing snakes on this mo#@$#$@%therf%^^ing plane"), majority of the crowd was yelling it too and got a standing ovation.

I can honestly say this movie lived up to the hype for me. I would recommend going and seeing it now while the hype is there and the crowd is into it.
