Whisky!

Postby UofMLaxGoalie11 on Wed Jun 21, 2006 12:55 am

I found a website when looking for a description of Johnnie Walker Green Label (its not featured on their website) and the bartender part of me fell in love. Some of the bottles are amazing. I just thought it was pretty cool to see some bottles for sale anywhere from $10-$30000 (note that the website is in GBP [Great Britain Pounds]) (Also, since the majority of the whiskys on there are not from America or Ireland, I left the "e" out of whisky in the title).

The coolest bottle I found on there so far. This one runs a hefty $2500.

My personal favorite. Johnnie Walker Blue Label is normally $150 a bottle. This was released in commeration of the 200th anniversary. It is a hand made square decanter, which is apparently extremely difficult to make, in a blue leather case and is no doubt one of the finest scotches they have ever produced. This wonderful collection runs $3500

The most expensive bottle I found on there. It is the Remy Martin Louis XIII Spectacular. It includes a 4ct diamond in the center of the bottle I think. This cognac is about the finest you will ever find. This one is $30,000.

Do any of them add up to the quality of my personal favorite (besides Jack), Fleischmann's? Can you really go wrong with $13 for 1.75L?

I am pretty sure the Green Label is Johnnie's single malt.

Benson, honestly that was the first brand I wanted to show a picture of, I was looking for the Whiskey, though. We played a tournament game at ISU last year and I saw the stuff and had to buy it. It was like $7 for a handle, and it tasted like gasoline. I had the bottle from then until I moved a month ago.

It is amazing how many handles of it you will see it laying around a tailgate. About the only time you will ever see me consume it as usually I don't care at that point.

I am pretty sure the Green Label is Johnnie's single malt.

Actually I think it is their 15 year blend. Just it contains all single malt scotches. I saw it when I was helping my mom find good makings for margaritas in the liquor store up the road.

Johnnie Walker Pure Malt (a.k.a. Green Label) — a vatted malt whisky that consists of a blend of approximately 15 individual single malts, the signature malts being Talisker, Cragganmore, Linkwood, and Caol Ila – Aged 15 years.
