Do you think the O's might just be trying to sabotage his career?

No, Angelos is shrewd. He knows that drafting this kid would garner the organization tons of Publicity. The O's have been outside the headlines, outside of losing, and the whole Tejeda stuff the team hasn't recieved much national press.

Angelos has run a once proud franchise into the ground. He has looted what was once the best farm system in the league and made it a sham.
Maier actually called Angelos to sell himself for the draft. Angelos forgave him for the incident some 10 years ago. Yet another reason to despise Angelos. I am glad the Nats are in Chocolate City. I no longer have to travel to Charm City to watch bad baseball. I can just take the Metro to SE for that now.
Welcome to Baltimore, hon!

I will be always a Cincinnati Reds fan as well as a Boston Red Sox fan; however, I have enjoyed watching a lot of future Baltimore Orioles players such as Cal Ripken coming out of the Rochester Red Wings (International League, Triple AAA) system, for both have enjoyed 43 years of business relationship until at a point that the Red Wings decided to part ways and affilitated themselves with the Minnesota Twins.
Initially, the Red Wings started out with the St. Louis Cardinals.
When Earl Weaver ended his career with the Orioles, my fascination with that organization ended. I still miss his feisty confrontations with the umps.

NINE A'S?!?! WOW!!!
Darn! That would have been nice, but right now, I am just realized that it should be read as "Triple A." Anyway, thanks for pointing that out.
