Seems decent, but I think Cal Poly should be higher due to their great showing at the tournament this year. Perhaps pushing them up to 9th would be more appropriate in my opinion.

Are you taking consolation games into effect for this poll?

Why is Michigan ranked above UCSB? UCSB made it into the final four, Michigan didn't. I'd probably switch those two around. I would also switch around Sonoma and Arizona--Sonoma beat them in the league championship. 11, 12, 13 would be Cal Poly, Oakland, Utah. Other than that, looks good.

Because most MDIA programs don't compete with all of their top talent after losing in the tournament. Some teams switch things up to get new players on the field in the consolation bracket games.

Alright so if Consolation games are a part of this whats up with Oregon being so high after losing to Lindenwood, who had lost to Minn-Duluth?

Don't get so uptight. It's WODA's version of a Mock (key word is Mock) Post Season MDIA poll.

Don't get so uptight. It's WODA's version of a Mock (key word is Mock) Post Season MDIA poll.

The problem with e-mails and online posting is conveyance of tone always gets messed up. Not trying to get up tight just providing a little feedback. Everyone has thier own version, but when I post mine up I am doing so to get feedback and have people tell me what they believe I have missed or overlooked (which is probably alot). Wasn't trying to be critical just throwing that out there. If it sounded harsh I apologize, It was not meant that way. :D

by the way i don't think i could put together a poll outside of the top 4 for now so kudos to him.

It's still the only way to determine poll position. (for the teams that didn't pass first round)

I would think the whole body of work (entire season's results) would make more sense then 2 consolation bracket games when making that poll position comparison.

Furthermore, I think the trend is to eliminate or minimize the consolation games. I've seen firsthand the disappointment of teams who lose at the tournament. I think teams that lose should take a day off and play one final consolation bracket game at the national tournament. Makes things easier on the teams involved, the referees, tourney staff, & the media.

Just as an example, I spotted Sonoma all american goalie, Warren Pringle, playing attack/midfield for Sonoma against Michigan. I'm sure that Michigan treated the game in a similar vein. How can you rely on a game like that to determine poll position?
As far as a final poll is concerned, the 8 teams that won their first game are the top 8. The 4 teams that won their quarter final games are the top 4. Teams that didn't go to the tournament do not advance based on tournament teams losing consolation games.
