Wide Open Div A Tourney? Dominance of the Big 5?

All the talk about how wide open the tournament is this year. Sure looked like it all season. But now, two semi-spots are guanteed to be held by the Big 5; #4 vs. #5 and #2 vs #10, and another seems likely #1 vs. #8. On the other hand, this year's #1 v #8 is probably closer on paper than that game has been in a long time.

Another interesting point is that 7 of the surviving 8 teams are from WCLL or RMLC -- none of the 8 WCLL/RMLC teams at the tourney lost to a team from the other conferences, UCSD lost out to UCSB. We'll see if this holds thru tomorrow and beyond with a very tough Michigan team.

Seconded -- hearty congrats to all the teams in an overall much more level playing field this year.
