Mother's Day the next day
I am sure every year USLIA does recognize the mothers and wives who have lent their support and encouragement to their sons and their husbands (players, coaches, assistant coaches, and the USLIA BOD, etc.) in their quest to reach the USLIA pinnacle. I have to ask because the day after the USLIA championships conclude on May 13 is Mother's Day (May 14). Does USLIA still do that every year? Don't forget to thank your mother or your wife for her continuing love and support for you.

It always works out that the tournament is on Mother's Day weekend, but that isn't why we end on Saturday. That has to do with a couple of factors.

I was not implying as to asking why USLIA ends on a Saturday before Mother's Day. I was just wondering IF USLIA has done something traditional to honor those mothers and wives in attendance at USLIA games. I know it would be prohibitive to spend $$ on flowers.

someone correct me if i'm wrong but i believe former tourney director and all around good guy Doug Horn organized something that provided the players with mother's day cards to present. Could be an urban legend though.

The most original of all is giving your Mom a very special hug for being there for you the whole way.

Let's see now, that's 12 B teams, 16 A teams, and 16 Women's teams with about 35 players per team and $2.75 a pop for the cards....
....Doug, you got a spare $4,235 lying around for this?? Maybe hidden in the cushions of the couch?? (more like it IS the cushions of the couch!)

My dad and i go to my grandmas and plant flowers every year.
It's fun to have a tradition like that.

I've played the top teams out there (accept Michigan) and in my opinion CSU has a very good chance at winning it. BYU will be there too. I think.

Actually that can't happen. CSU vs BYU in the semis. that should be the game of the tourney. One of them vs sonoma in the championship is how I see it.
